Morning all,
Well I didn't have much time to update on here over the last few days, but it's my day off today so thought I'd pop on....I started back at work on Monday and met my friend, it was her first day. I delivered her to the right door and then went to check where I was supposed to be and someone kindly delivered me to the right door 🤣. I was in an induction for students Allllllll day. They were bored, I tried to show I was not bored (but I was), and even the people delivering the induction looked bored. If I stay with this group I will be in a practical session learning useful skill for DIY all day on a Monday 👏🏻. I met up with my friend at lunch and also after work as she came back to mine for a couple of hours. She loved my new kitchen 🤩 and she kindly filled out some references for me for the fostering. She wanted me there for some reason whilst she did it even though she actually did it on her own 🤷🏻♀️🤣. I think it's because she wanted to check dates she is forgetful with those. But anyway I didn't get to really relax on Monday until bedtime. And then I crashed.
Yesterday I was in the old part of the city close to my house and had a fantastic view all day. Students once again were doing inductions and I struggled even more so listening for the second time. I swear, some of these students tell me they've got ADHD or whatever and the only one fidgeting all day was me 🤣🤣🤣 they'd successfully learned to sleep with their eyes open.
Had lunch in the castle park which was lovely and finished early.
Both days got caught in downpours. Autumn is on the way.
My new shoes! So I didn't wear them Monday, I put trainers on because I knew I was in a workshop. My feet were SO sore after work. I managed 10k steps in four hours. Tues I wore my new heels. They were so comfy from the off and needed no breaking in. Then I had hills to traverse in heels. And I was instantly regretting my decision 🤣🤦🏻♀️. However, as the day went on they were comfy, when stood up I did not get that heel pain I usually get and at the end of the day (6k steps done yesterday) my feet did NOT hurt 🤔🤔🙈 so all these years I've been wearing flats because I wanted to help my pain has made it worse I think. Obviously this was only one day so I will persevere and try for longer before making firm decisions here. But initial thoughts are I should swap between the two depending on what work I have on to help use different muscles and to avoid continuous pain from standing the same way, iyswim?
Oh and yesterday I went to the gym for the second time. I can't use the treadmill yet because of leg, knee and foot pain but I use what DP calls an elliptical trainer? It doesn't cause any pain at all so I stick to that. - I'll whisper this so I don't jinx it - but my knee has stopped continuously dislocating. I've been using a magnesium oil and rubbing it into my joints before bed and really working it it. The first few days really hurt as I was bending my knee and straightening it as I was rubbing it and it was click click click and I almost forced it back into place like the chiropractor does 🫣 and I had one almighty click one day and it seems to have helped. Still mild pain so I'm being cautious but it feels so much better and I'm not limping along as I walk now. 🤞🏻👏🏻
Weight- on the increase. Even though I've been pretty good diet wise and very good going swimming and to the gym almost every other day. Not sure what's going on with this.
Tomorrow and Fri I have normal classes I hope because I can do any more inductions 🫣🤣.
DS went back to school yesterday. Ex sent me a picture.
DD went back to school today, her last ever first day 🥺
Feel it may be ds last ever first day too as I don't think he's staying on at school. 🥺 No response from the message I've sent him wishing him good luck.
We've been eating the green chef meals all week and I'd say there was only one we wouldn't do again because we felt it was a faff and I honestly preferred my version of it 🫣🤣. I sent a free box to a friend using a referral and I got £20 discount on my next box 😃 so means I can get another one as couldn't really justify the expense of a full box this month.
Today I need to go shopping we're out of a few basics like milk and oil. Also need shampoo, shower gel and a few other toiletries (need to make a list can't think what we need off the top of my head). Then I will have a quick clean round the house but I'm not doing too much today. I might go swimming later on, I'll see how my energy is. I did do the gym yesterday so really I was planning on having a days rest, but I feel alright and I'd rather do the swim on my day off tbh.
Hope everyone is ok 😊.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Doing a bit of admin, cashed out £8.64 from surveys, £3 cashback. I'm sending it all to small mortgage OPs.
The sight of £471 interest added on to my account at the end of last month made me feel quite sick 😳.
I think I'll keep sending the little bits over as and when I cash them out.
Found a way to get cheap cinema tickets too I went through the blue light card - was even cheaper than the cashback site I usually use - £25 for three 👏🏻
Edited to add another £9.73 from another CB site.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. There is nothing like an unplanned visit from a friend to spur you into cleaning your house. I mean the friend had already been the other day but I was so embarrassed showing her around, please excuse the carpet I've not hoovered this week (and omg why does dark grey show EVERYTHING) and omg excuse the state of the bathroom and this and that and ugh. And another friend is due to come round either today or tomorrow....
So anyway I had a lazy morning watching a programme then it started lagging as internet wasn't great so Instead of watching any more I got up and dressed and set a timer for half hour to see how much I could clean. I managed to put a wash on, wash up, tidy kitchen sides, clean some ornaments in the hall (still have builders dust on oops they were orange 😬🤣) hoovered everywhere downstairs, moved some furniture about, and dusted downstairs.
I still need to do the bathrooms and hoover upstairs but my timer ran out so I stopped.
I need to go shopping now and I might set another timer for when I'm back to finish the last bits off.
Amazing how much you can do in the house though when you know someone else will see it 🤣.
In fact I might get DP to hoover upstairs I hate lifting the hoover up and down stairs it pulls on my bad shoulder and I've done all the rest of the cleaning. That sounds fair 😁.
Booked swimming too. Will aim for 20 laps but as I did the gym yesterday if tiredness kicks in I will stop at 12.
Right off shopping now then will finish my programme when I get back. If it's stopped lagging....MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Its maybe just me but I tend to use biological dad for the one that fathers people but then doesn't do the day to day rather than refer to him as the real dad.
Glad you are getting back into school, hope ur classes are easy this year

Afternoon all,
i'm exhausted. And have one more day left of the week. I had my ear talked off today, it was so bizarre, I saw the student this morning and thought OMG he looks just like my BIL, my BIL will talk your ear off and drive you mad because he doesn't understand how a two way conversation works. Well I just met his twin only 30 years youngerbut he has made me super tired now from constant chat chat.
I have one green chef left that is dinner tonight. Beetroot curry.
I have paid £12.73 over to the OP from cashback and survey money. So £66 left to yearly target.
