Sending you a virtual hug and a ‘just keep being you they will learn!’
Sorry to read all this stuff re your DS etc - think holding the space of love for your DS is the only way
some mistakes in life we have to learn my making them and looks like DS is about to start on that inevitable part of life
but I am with KK - raging on your behalf

so pleased you have a supportive Dp & are able to lean on meditation etc to get your emotional space on this / your DS is far luckier in his mum that he understands right now

    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

@ladybird1106 I am wondering if my pain is the same. I already wear arch support in my daily trainers but I wanted to try arch support with a small heel, I wondered if it might help with my heel pain being more cushioned and slightly elevated. Getting old does suck. Meh.
@KajiKita yes I have had the same thought about family. It makes me really sad, because I don't see them like that. I am the only one who works, the only one with a mortgage (mill stone) and I am the only one who has picked myself up time and time again after being knocked back....I think there is a sense of jealousy, envy and them subconsciously thinking they're not good enough. I would never judge them.
@daisy_1571 DD I think has realised it was upsetting me a lot keep going over Ex new life esp as I feel he has literally stolen my son away from me, when all 3 children were younger he had NO interest in having them - this is pure spite and an easy win because it allows him to get one over on me, and to save some money. DD realises DP is a better dad and bought DP a father's day card for him and not her dad. DP cried, it was a real turning point. I will look for that book - I have not heard of it before. I have just looked it up.....this is a story far too close to home, I will try and find the book. My father had a secret family and child hidden as we grew up!!

Okay so shoes...i found some! They are comfort ones from clarks and have a small heel. The sales girl was very kind and patient as I tried on about 5 pairs  i have awkward feet that are wide but also in between sizes so annoying...anyway we persevered and i found some I loved. The heel is around 1-2 inches and chunky so no doing my ankle in. I hope they will help the heel pain but will not hold out too much hope... I asked about a blue light discount and it is usually online only apparently but they honoured it for me, so 15% off then I bought a voucher through jam doughnut and got 6% off the rest of the money owed. So not too bad. I will wear them next week and report back! They also have a strap as I am in between sizes I can't wear loafer type shoes that I like because they don't fit well. So these will at least stay on

DP is gluing on the wood trim (tiny splashback, hardly worth calling it that but it finishes off the worktops) and I am going to do some ironing. We have our cupboard back in, it was very heavy even when empty. I've cleaned it up and the records are back in it as is the record player on top.
DP accidentally smashed one of my spice jars so I need to see if I can replace it on ebay or somewhere. They are ceramic ones with pictures of fairies on. I am minus a mustard one now.
Right I will get on. I am going to do at least ten items from the ironing!!

Ooh well done on the shoes and the discount! I hope they help give comfort for your feet!

Shane about the mustard pot. Annoying when it's one of a set, but hopefully you will be able to find a placement 🤞🤞

Oo thanks KK, and it is a bit annoying @Bananabreadyum , but I never had the complete set anyway. It was missing rosemary and I think maybe one or two others and now the mustard. That one is quite close and possibly wouldn't notice too much @kajikita I'll wait until we have our shelves up then decide what to do. I never realised how expensive they were, I bought my set after finding them in a local FB sales group and only bought as I thought they were pretty, got the whole lot for £25! I don't use the mustard all that much aside from when pickling stuff so I might just leave it missing 🙈.

So sorry to read about what is happening with DS. Me and my brother no longer speak to our biological father and haven't done for some years, we have a great relationship with our mum and our step dad is amazing, he even gave me away at my wedding. DS will come to his senses and he will see what exidiot is really like, just like DD has. Stay strong xx

This might be useful about Andrew Tate https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/feb/14/parents-sons-andrew-tate-teachers-toxic-influencers

It's from 2023, but probably still relevant. I'm sure there's a lot more advice out there for parents now about how to deal with this kind of stuff.
