@KajiKita our life insurance and critical illness etc are paid monthly...I would actually like to move these to yearly as well. They're next due in August next year so I should make plans to have enough to pay those too. Breakdown cover was in the car insurance.
With regards to DS and DD well they'd always been best buddies when younger. There's 12 months almost exactly between them. However ds started listening to things like Andrew Tate (I don't know who he is but all I've heard is he's not a good influence) and he started literally hating women overnight. Calling me out on my income, what I do around the house, this that and the other and telling me what to do. I quickly put him back into his place hence he started to 'punish' me by giving me the silent treatment which is still ongoing and skulking around the house. He then turned on DD for similar reasons, calling her fat, stupid, well anything derogatory that you can think of like he was perfect and we all were not. 🤔
DD went into her room and avoided him. DS went to his room to avoid me. It was all really heartbreakingly sad. Since he's been gone I feel relief that I'm not being judged for everything I do and I feel like DD is probably feeling similar to me.
@dawnybabes my friend said that some of the references they've had back from ex's are awful. And most are outrageous claims that cannot be backed up and no other references say anything of the sort. I'm waiting with baited breath for that one.
Sleep,....ah my old friend that has eluded me once again. I miss it dearly 😴🫢🤣.
Usually I am full on until around 8 then we always stop, either I read, we chat, we watch a movie etc. even on my DIY days we have a cut off point because there's been times we've been stupidly doing DIY until midnight! That rarely happens now and only if we have a trade in the next day and we've left it too late to get things prepped 🫢. I HATE my bathroom. I used to love a bath before bed and would sleep amazing. I have noticed if I have a bath now I lay in bed afterwards thinking about how I can decorate my bathroom for three hours 🤣 I am unable to switch this stupid thinking off for that particular thing. So I stick to showers. 🤣🙈 Actually going to the gym and swimming and then steam room/ sauna has been the best way to relax me in the evening but the sessions aren't all that late so I come home and then end up doing something else like watching TV. I sometimes meditate but my ear phones are not very good. Need to invest in some more. Sleep teas are all utter rubbish. None work. I dunno what else to do aside from beg the doc for drugs to knock me out once a week so I can catch up. 🫣🤣
Today I have achieved no ironing 😁 bet you're not surprised.
Instead I have completely emptied the garage of kitchen stuff and the old kitchen is completely empty too!!! Yay!! I still have space too in the new kitchen which is fab! I have a pile of baking trays to go away still but they do have a home. They just have no shelf in the cupboard yet. So they're sat on the old kitchen worktop. But it's done. We've officially moved into the new kitchen (we'll ignore the fact I still have to use tap and sink on old kitchen 🤣).
Nsd and I made a fiver selling something on FB. Which also means one thing decluttered from the house.
I have also had my new timetable but we have been told to expect a lot of changes. I have some practical on there and I have a wednesday off. We'll see how it pans out in a few weeks before I get too happy/ sad about anything 🤣.

A Tate …
Ah.
That explains a lot.
Oh dear …
Your kitchen sounds awesome 🤩 (glossing over the minor details like plumbing for now …😉)
Do you ever do any crafting? Crochet, knitting, cross stitch? I think you did mention something. Maybe it would be worth picking that up again in the evenings?

I keep picking up the cross stitch and doing a bit then putting it down and forgetting about it. Also embroidery as I have that on the go too. I'm like a butterfly I flit from one thing to another getting bored 🙈. I drive myself mad nevermind anyone else.
I've been to the gym.
I'm still alive. 🙂
Just about. 😳🫠🥵
Didn't even do very much. 🤔
Have booked into swimming tomorrow as I didn't have time tonight.
I've cooked dinner, mash beans and sausages as DD needed soft foods ...sausages being non soft she has to cut into teeny bits. Hopefully the brace stops hurting soon ☹️.
Going to do the washing up and have a shower before reading I think 😊. DD and DP are out for a driving lesson.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. I also think lots of people get shoddy references from ex's. I hope it works out as I think you will be fantastic.

I had similar issues with sleep until I got an lumie clock. Sleep so much better now. I fall asleep to the sound of waves and wake up to bird song. It also mimics the sun setting and rising.😴
love 🐞

Morning all, thank you @beanielou and @ladybird1106 (haven't 'seen' you in a while I will come catch up with you). I haven't heard of a lumie clock I will go have a look. I have visions of the gro clock I used to have to help the kids sleep when little. 🤔
I'm off swimming and sauna rooming it this morning. Then I'd like to pop to town for an m&s collection for a jumper I ordered. I think DP has had enough of DIY as much as me for now. But we've agreed to do a few small jobs that won't take very long or much effort. Just little and often now I think until everything is done. It's usable so I think DP thinks it's done now 🤣. We were finding it a pain yesterday carrying hot pans all the way across from one room to another though so I think he will get on with plumbing (maybe next weekend).
DD is at work today. I'll drop her before we go swimming.
First payment for mine and DD gym membership has come out. She gets a student one so hers is only £27 per month for full use of all facilities. I got the blue light discount and mine was around £36. DP doesn't get a discount but I think his was only a few quid more than mine, it was less than 40 anyway. So I over budgeted for that and there should be a few quid spare there after bills come out.
Right off to get ready for the swim. Just a gentle one today, I'm a little bit achy after the gym. My body is so confused as to what I'm doing to it after a long time of no exercise (aside from walking 🙈🤣).MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Well no great insights but I'm glad you remined me of the sunsetting on the lumie. I have one but don't use it, but that used to be a great way to go to sleep. thank youMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1 -
wonderful that you are getting into the rythym of the pool and gym. Something I think I need to do, will add it to the list to look into when September comes!Oh limmy, thats Monday!!!!!!!I have been quite discombobulated over the summer hols, i think I will be glad to have the return of more routine and structure!1

Hey Watty 👋🏻 I think I will definitely check out one of those clocks.
@Bananabreadyum I know September has snuck up on me too. You've had a lot on this summer though so I'll just echo what everyone says to me, be kind to yourself 🫂.
I've been swimming, only 12 laps today. Was already tired before I went. Felt quite perked up after we came out though. I made us some brunch then we headed out for a shelf and wander round home Sense - this place is dangerous to me I like too much stuff 🫣. Bought only what we actually needed though- new tea towels, step ladder to reach the new cupboards 🤣 and a couple of other cook bits that had broken but I'd put off replacing until the kitchen was done. Got cashback 6 or 7% i think? Then went and bought the shelf and brackets (more cashback from here 3.5% I think & had a £6 voucher). Just got to put that up and secure the small wood splash back bits to the wall and that is all we're doing today.
Nice chilled day.
Need to go to town and collect that jumper but thought I'd do it and collect DD at same time, she works next door to it.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Evening @debtfreewannabe321, lovely kitchen! The green is gorgeous and love the colourful wallpaper.Having two boys - I hope they steer clear of the Tate bros and similar 'ugly' characters.
