I've joined the gym! More for swimming than anything at the moment. But I got the white membership as I got a discount anyway with the blue light card then I chat gpt'd a discount code for it and got £15 off (I go on there now and check where the best cashback and also for discount codes every time I buy anything online these days)! I've set it to start for Thursday in hope my swimming suit will be here by then! 😁 I feel quite excited. There is also a small sauna and steam room which I want to have access to which is another reason why I got the whole membership.
I've weeded two beds partially. The worst bits of both. I've planted two plants and have two more to do but came in for drinks and food. The ground was solid so I've soaked both areas I want new plants and I will do that after an early lunch.
Heating is down! Floor is just about to be laid. Green bin will be full when I put what I've collected from the wheelbarrow in it. That's an after lunch job though.

SO jobs:
- shopping
- cut grass Still Raining!
- fill green bin (i've lots piled up already so just needs moving and weed one area) got rained off but the bin has been filled! Also tidied the greenhouse. The cucumbers are still giving...the courgettes seem to be covered in mildew
- hoover front room next on list
- weigh myself and try not to cry
- set weight loss goal
- move money out of savings to pay for builders when they are done (one account seems to take 2 days to move it) moved all the money out of isa and savings have less than £100 left in both now 😨 feel very nervous about this and would like to get savings back up to £300 at least asap. - Also hoping we have enough for the final bill as we've had bits changed along the way and extra jobs added on etc....
- 10k steps if I am physically able - I reckon I have done at least 3000 up and down the garden and around the house already. I am exhausted! Shops next though I haven't been sleeping well and I think some of the reason is because I haven't been very physically active (aside from the crazy DIY weekend lol)
- look at skip hire we are getting one if we have enough cash once the builders are finished - we don't want them filling it so will get it when this job is signed off (they will take all rubbish if there is no skip). wow who knew there were so many skip companies. I think I found one 6 yard for £250 seems to be the cheapest I can see but won't order it just yet.
I won't hire the skip just yet, the builders have so much stuff (again) to collect rubbish wise I don't want them filling it before we even get the kitchen out. The new cooker is switched on! And the electrics all done, I think he has to come back to do something else though once the floor has been laid- we are half way there on that one. We decided against a threshold between areas even though the floor guy was saying it might be useful to have one between kitchen and the living area. We wanted flow and continuity so he's not putting it in now. It's a continuous floor for 10 metres now 😁.
oooo sun is breaking through, I might go for a walk and then take the car and go shopping when I am home.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. 1.3 miles took me 42 minutes 🙈😆 and only 3,500 steps ugh! I thought when I got back I'd been out ages and it felt like I had done at least 2 miles. 😬 Yikes even more unfit than I thought 🙈 time for a cuppa and sit down. Perhaps I will lower my sights on 5000 rather than 10 today 🤣. Knee held up well though only slightly clicky and no dislocating (yay!)
Floor is hoovered too so done most of what I wanted for today. I'll weigh myself before my shower later.

Mortgage OP update- I reached my first goal which was 1% of the mortgage pre new mortgage agreement 🫣😁. So I've updated signature for new goal of 1% of the new mortgage £1650 to be paid by end of year. Should easily do this if I stick to £200 OP each month.
Perhaps next year I will push the boat out and aim for more than 1%...what about 2? 😆
Also got my yearly statement. There were PAGES of it because of all my small OPs 🤣🤣🤣.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. I had a walk with DP last night to add to my earlier one. Knee was a tad sore when home but it's definitely healing quickly. I ended up doing 2.5 miles and 7000 steps. Those were the tracked ones on my phone..but I was up and down the garden when gardening so I reckon 8k+ was closer.
I never weighed myself I'll do that today. I forgot 😆🤦🏻♀️.
Floor guy reckons he should be done by today 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Great work on Mortgage. Work really coming on now, you'll be living in the space soon.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1 -
Thanks all.
Okay I weighed myself and I'm feeling very deflated 😬 since the knee injury I have put on 3lb ...so I really do need to lose some weight. I'd like to aim for getting under 12st 😐 I can't even believe I'm this big. I was only 10st when I was 9 months pregnant with my son. Ugh. 10st seems a distant memory. I'd like to get down an entire stone but the weight doesn't ever seem to shift any more it just keeps piling on. I hate middle aged ☹️.
I'll aim to walk the same as yesterday if not more and break it up like I did yesterday as that helped with sore leg.
I need to go shopping as I didn't go yesterday so I'll make a very small list and do that. I've not got much planned aside from trying to make some space in the carport for the kitchen delivery tomorrow 👏🏻😁.
I've downloaded a book so might read that today, I've read two over the last week. I'm doing well on getting back into reading. Now I need to do well into getting back into moving a lot for some exercise 😆.
Edited to add I've just been to l1dl. Have they increased their prices overnight? I picked up usual stuff and two bags of shopping cost me £50 😳?!!
Floor is nearly done and he's run out 🤦🏻♀️ so typical...some of it was bowed so he's taking it back to replace for good hopefully they have some in stock because we literally have two or three rows left to go 🤞🏻!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000.
