On a side note we have veg boxes £1.50 out a lot in Mr L BUT they seem to group together stuff rather than split it so for example they could have had five boxes with potatoes, tomato, lettuce, apples and pepper this morning but instead they had five boxes one filled with each fruit/ veg 🤔 is it just our one that does this or is this nationwide. It seems really silly to me. No one needs 40 potatoes. 🤔
MY local lidl does the boxes but they are mixed items, I got one this morning that contained, celery, swede, cabbage, new potatoes, coriander, onions, pink lady apples, strawberries, plums and bananas.

This is how it should be, surely? I asked the lady on the till why they never mixed them and she just replied with a shrug of the shoulder and a 'i dunno' I might move some bits about next time and make my own!
That's like the ultimate in self service!  :D

I wish they would put them on the way in rather than on the way out cos generally I have already got the stuff going through the till as I spot them and run over to look and think well I have 1kg of potatoes do I need six more 🤔 or Ditto for the apples and peppers etc. I might have to start remembering to go that way first and then circle back round to the fruit and veg because I'd be far more likely to mix and match boxes for what I need 🤣.

Morning all, the FB sale won't happen today omg she asked me so many questions yesterday about it and I just thought it's not worth it. She messaged me this morning and said I'm not coming I found a more local one. Have to say it's the only sale where I've gone *phew* dodged a bullet as I think she would have had us try and help lift the damned thing and it's VERY heavy. Heavier than our heaviest sofa which is 7ft long and bloody heavy.

Anyway meeting another friend today 😁 the one I got a job working with me in September. We'll meet at the garden centre which could be a bit dangerous 😬. However my knee is playing me up again so it limits how many plant aisles I can comfortably walk down 🤣 silver linings and all that... Yesterday we walked to the shops as I had forgotten something and felt my knee was ok. It was mildly hurting when we got back. Then after dinner we decided to do big orange DIY shop as it's stupidly busy down that end of town during the day and can take me an hour to get there and back because of the twenty million traffic lights (it feels like that many anyway). So bought plumbing stuff and paint stuff to get on with tomorrow and Saturday. By the time I got home I'd walked 6000 steps which is the most I'd walked since hurting my leg so it was sore. Not dislocating quite as much though which was a bonus.
Oh not sure if I said yesterday but my friend paid for our lunch out and I got to grill her a little on the fostering as she is one of the SW who work for the company. I can't do the training day as I will be at work so she's said to say I can only do weekends, which I did, and she said she'll try and do the training if allowed. 👏🏻☺️

I used the jam donut app yesterday for my spends in DIY shop and I'm up to £8 something on there now in cashback - I can cash out at £10. It's by far the best app I have used for immediate pay out. I'm still waiting on qudco to pay me from this time last year on something they said would be paid by Feb!!! I think I'm going to stop using them once I get the CB owed (£165 I think for all the comparison things I've done and purchased).

My friend I'm meeting today got me to download an app for the garden centre and I have a free hot drink on there 😄 and some other vouchers although not checked what for yet.

I'm going to try and tempt DD into the car again today after at least a week off lessons. She's over her bug and not at work for a few days so perfect time I think otherwise one little blip in confidence will have her saying nah I can't be bothered. Thankfully the car is in my name and I have insurance so if she really doesn't want to learn I will have the car. I think what put her off the most is when she tried to book a practical test as she knew the wait time was long.....two years was the next nearest test and she kinda just went, why should I bother? Two years is mental! So we need to book her in on a Monday morning someone said at 6am when new slots are released 😖 we shall see if that's a thing.... maybe that will give her a reason to get back behind the wheel then.

Right off to get ready to meet friend. ☺️

I have similar issues with my knees and ended up buying knee supports which helped loads. In fact they allowed me to exercise gently knowing my knees were supported. I very rarely need them now.

I think you can also look for cancellations for driving tests?

It sounds like your knee needs strengthening? Do you have physio exercises for it?
    Enjoy the garden centre! ;)

Not heard of the 'jam donut' app - will have a look at that one :)

I've been through the (many!) test booking things over the last couple of years.  You do indeed need to be on at around 6am on a Monday morning when they release the new slots, six months ahead is the maximum. Once you have a slot then you can change it up to six times - I used to check randomly to see if I could find a closer time. The more rural test centre here didn't have slots even at 6am, and I had to do a wait list booking where they take your money and after a few weeks wait they allocate you a slot. Never did manage to change those ones to an earlier date or time, and luckily they both passed on those slots as the two years from the theory was running out.

You could book it and just not tell her, just need her driving licence number and use your email/mobile. You can always move or cancel it if she isn't ready, but getting a slot booked appears to be key.

@ladybird1106 I have a knee support, I had it on last week, I will get it out again I think as it did help on the worst day.
@KajiKita I definitely need some strength training, it is why I was going to join up at the gym, however the injury has now pushed that back 🙈 once it is feeling good I am going to go straight down and join and get a bit stronger/ fitter. I think it is actually spelled doughnut now I think about that app...
@redofromstart I have talked her into a lesson today and told her she needs to get back out there and we will get up at 5.50am on Monday and book something for her so that she has something to work towards. Instructors have a year or two wait list too which is mental so I am not even sure we can get her some 'proper' lessons before the test. Why is this so long a wait....absolutely crazy. She booked her theory in January and the nearest one was just after her 17th 6 months away.

I met my friend and we had a very long chat and catch up. She paid. I paid last time so that worked well for both friend catch ups this week as neither was my turn  I did however get sucked into the food shop, then the plant shop :grimace: got away quite lightly I think with only a spend of £22, on new gardening gloves, two plants and a jam and lemon curd. Thought that was okay. More than was budgeted for though. Oops.

I have to fill out more forms for fostering, and change some references, we got confused with the form and filled bits out wrong. It is hard work just getting past stage one. Yikes. I heard it only gets worse from here  I am sure it will all be worth it though and I will feel like I am finally making a difference in the world if we get accepted.

Dinner is just a shop sauce (sweet and sour) and tofu with pepper and onions and rice. Quick and easy and then I will send DD out for her lesson.
