I passed in 80s, motorbike and car, but back then roads weren't as busy as they are now so that helped. Also, the test was more about actually testing your driving so I along with everyone i knew at the time never had professional lessons. We all went out in our parents' cars. My dad took me out, practice on the manoeuvres, bit practice on general driving, sat test and passed. The bike 5est was more of a pain as they brought in the cbt by then and you had to pass that then a road test.
My dad taught my mum back in the 50s tgen my 2 older brothers, me and my fiance at the time. Now it seems more necessary to get at least a few professional lessons as they teach odd ways of driving compared to common sense and good engine management. Very expensive if you have to do all the general driving practice on paid for lessons though.
Is it worth looking into one of those pass in a week places? Even if it was elsewhere in the country it might be cheaper and quicker to take a holiday cottage or caravan and she/you can stay while she does the course compared to lessons and trying to not get too confident a driver if shes practising for over a year waiting on the test?22: 3🏅 4⭐ 23: 5🏅 6 ⭐ 24 1🏅 2⭐ 25 🏅 🥈⭐ Never save something for a special occasion. Ooo we cross posted!Bananabreadyum said:Definetly recommend getting up early to book a slot. I did that for my son and then we could change it and bought it forward several months. It is a really pain though.
P. S. New account, but I've been following / posting for ages
I've told DD to give me her DL so I can do it as she won't get up at that time as much as she thinks she might 🤣2 -
I've filled out a 5* review for something I purchased (and liked I didn't lie 🤣) in reward for a £15 PP credit. We will see if it comes through or not but it took two minutes to do and it was the cost of the item I bought so would be nice if they do pay.
I've got hardboard currently being laid and every time he puts a bit down he throws it/drops it scaring the life out of me 😨. So I decided to go out and avoid the noise. And I bought a sofa accidentally. Second hand from the CS but still 😬. I bought our sofas we currently have for our last house and I hate them in this house they're too big (even for the extension room) and clunky. So I had already decided to swap one out at least (possibly both of them eventually)- so I will put the larger one up for sale. The new one is more neutral natural creamier colour (with a bit of a gold hue) and the ones we had are very tall clunky dark grey ones. So I don't have regrets I just am now wondering where to put it when it turns up 😬🤣. I best get selling the other one I think asap.

Ooo @daisy_1571 imagine if I got a holiday as well as DD passing her test I love this idea the most 🤣1 -
I did think about this but it's a fair drive away which I didn't mind doing as off doing nothing but I thought an 80 mile round trip will probably cost more than the cheap island itself. I bought a sofa instead 🤣🤣🤣Bargainhunter30 said:Could you hire a man and a van for the island? They often advertise on FB here1 -
