I've grouted the tiles!
And picked up the car. It was really difficult swapping from my car to it as the biting point was so high and ours is super low 🤣 I was revving it up like I was some sort of boy racer 😏🫣. I'm sure I will get used to it. I also tried to find 6th gear and it wasn't there 🤣. Brain not as good at swapping cars like it used to be!
It's raining here quite heavy, lovely and cooler and all but seriously! On the day I had a big bow to put on DD present outside... praying for a break in the rain for just an hour. About 4-5 pm would be perfect thanks 🤪.
We took back the tiles we didn't use and the grout- £50! Although the cashier was clearly having issues with something today because she was really rude about it like no one ever takes returns in and told us several times there would be a re-stocking charge. Fine whatever we have no use for them - and she told us again and again -huh? Then DP could see she was stressing so tried to crack a joke to ease the clear tension oozing off her and she was incredibly rude to him. What's that all about. Honestly I just seem to be attracting rude people lately. I've half a mind to email her management at that store. She should not be customer service if she doesn't like talking to people. Wouldn't mind but we were super chilled and happy to wait whilst it was done and weren't in the slightest bit rude. Anyway we eventually got our money back so the tiles actually cost around £120 all in which isn't too bad.
Right best go wash off the grout from my arms (don't ask 🤣) and get changed ready to collect DD in a couple of hours. Oh and exidiot is due over today which we are a bit peeved about because we wanted to give her a nice surprise just us and we have a feeling he will turn up just as she comes home and he has a knack of ruining happy moments with inappropriate jokes etc (and if he says anything about the fact it is only a little car and run around etc like he did with ds1 car, I will get in the car and use it over him.) 😁MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. If ex-idiot starts making comments, maybe you can suggest he gives her driving lessons for her birthday. As you know how much they are, he can hand over the cash to here there and then...1

What a long but good day 🥰. DD had a great first shift. She was the baby in the group so everyone looked after her especially when they found out it was her birthday. I picked her up and was slyly messaging DP before she got in the car to say we would be home in X amount of minutes. He was waiting for us with the video rolling, the car had a big bow on and her mouth was just open in shock and she'd stopped chatting (that's unusual for her 🤣) and DP came over to video her getting out and she was just like, is this for me? 😲 I thought she was going to cry. She absolutely loves it and it was so worth every penny to see the look on her face and needless to say she's decided we're good enough to teach her how to drive now 🤣.
Ex turned up and was actually complimentary so exchange went well although DS super moody. Ex spoke to me in a better way than DS did which was disheartening. DS had packed ex's entire car up and is supposed to be coming back tomorrow evening....I am going to guess he's not coming back at all for a while.
DD is out in the car now sat talking to her friends on video chat. They all think we're rich now which is really funny because they all live in the nice villages with the nicer, bigger houses....I have just managed to finally sort money situation out and spend only on what we really want rather than wasting it like I used to. I feel very proud of us for being able to do this for DD ☺️. She's very happy right now and that makes me happy ✨💝.
I've been up since 6 though so I'm pooped. Tea and bed for me.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. What a lovely read.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1 -
