@KajiKita I also want a fierce declutter (this sounds good!) I have an induction hob on the new range and some of my pans aren't suitable so I will be taking them to the charity shop or binning the ones that are on their last legs. I went through all the food cupboards today and have condensed it down lots of half packets and then more half packets of the same thing 🙈 oops. It's much clearer now and doesn't fall on my head when I open it up 😆.
@greenbee his current school are loathe to take him off the register. They're a very small school and when the private school fees went up recently parents were scrambling to get their kids into this one (on same road as private school too so not too disruptive to the kids) it's very good and the one ex has lined up is mediocre at best....I turned it down for ds1 when I lived there it was that bad for bullying and failing GCSE grades....hmm. if DS agrees to come back I'd let him but I know he'll be awful to me but I think staying where he is is best considering his age and going into year 11 soon... But I do agree with you at the same time 😏 this is really difficult for me.
@pennywisepoundstupid thank you 🙏🏻 DD has brought a boy home today...she never does this. He got a car for his birthday too apparently they were the only ones to get this as a present and they've somehow bonded...they're in the drive showing each other their cars. It's quite cute 🙈😆🥰.

I've not heard from ex or DS2. I don't know whether he's coming home or how the new school trip went. His current school said if a child was looking to move under similar circumstances to their school they would strongly dissuade them because it's such a critical time ....I'm not sure what ex has told new school though. Probably a lot of lies. He's good at that, sadly.

DP should be home soon. The builders are gone and left keys to the new extension - I've just been out and had a look and it oddly feels bigger now the roof and glazing is in! It's starting to look really nice - and real! I'm so glad I have something to look forward to at the moment it's keeping me smiling and plotting and planning so I don't sit and think too long on other things that aren't so great.

And he's been put back a year after much to-ing and fro-ing on my effort to get him the best chance....so he can't really go back another year if he moves. The school seemed really concerned but I suspect they didn't get hold of him.

DD said the teacher stopped her today and asked if she would speak to him but DD said he doesn't listen to her nor me. Ex has 100% brainwashed him.

I'm trying to remain calm about it all as it's DS life and all and he can do whatever he wants when he's old enough but I know he's been manipulated into this which is what is making this so hard 💔

Could he not just stay at Ex for the summer holidays ? That might be enough time to realise the grass isn’t greener?

Do they have the same subjects ? Exam boards ?

My family moved in the middle of my GSSE’s and I had to swop about 4 of my subjects as they weren’t available and the curriculum was totally different.  Was so so hard !

Sorry, posted too soon. At the end of the day your DS can always do his GCSE's later on.

I think it's different boards ...also his current school doesn't do languages so he'd have to pick one up and learn it very quick.

@beanielou I think that's exactly what will be happening...

So glad the current school are being supportive.  It might just be the summer is all that is needed.     After all DS will be with the ex for quite a few weeks and might just see the reality of the situation as it unfolds.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Just cashed out £15 from surveys.
That will pay for the cake and tea I bought earlier for a friend and I

We have lost a builder as one had an emergency at home. The roof is on but needs the finishing touches on it. We are now waterproof at least though. Which also means the next payment for the extension must be due.

We can't use our main car now as it needs to go back in for repairs, and the MOT expires today. Thankfully have the other one though

DS never replied to me about whether he was coming home. I guess the answer would be no. Right off to phone my friend - she has an interview for something I helped her prepare for! Woo. Exciting and it feels nice to help others who actually want the help

Oh gosh, I was trying to hold it together, I really was. But I ended up on a call with the ex and I had more raised voice than not  . The potential new school are even suggesting this isn't the best move half way through GCSE years...but ex and DS were insistent. I ended up getting a little irate because it feels to me like they are selling this move as an escape from a prison cell and how awful my home is. I was shaking with anger. I did manage to hold it together; for the most part.
Anyway whatever I am leaving it up to them right now, the stress is too much. The current school have emailed his current grades which I told ex and he said - Oh. I said what has he said his grades were? DS had apparently sold himself as doing better than he actually is. 😑

Anywho I have a headache, I am done with stressing over it. fajitas for dinner. I've tasked DP with that. Builder has just left and asked when we would like the 'wall' down - the bit between the old house and new extension. DP was a bit apprehensive because of dust but I was like oOOOOooooo yesss take it down! perhaps DP is right though lol.
