Kids got off to school/ work experience & DP gone to meet his boss for his review. I have a quiet house. I have already written a personal statement for a friend and changed her CV to suit the job she's applying for. I have also cleaned through the house (perhaps CLEAN is too specific, imagine that word in the loosest sense- sinks and toilets and bins cleaned, clothes picked up and tidied and a wash put on lol) and opened up the greenhouse and moved a few plants out as it is VERY hot in there.

I am waiting on an electrician to price up the kitchen job for us. DP is level two trained but he can't sign his own work off which would invalidate claim on insurance should we need it- he's happy to do all of it aside from the cooker but I said let's price it all up as he is so busy with work I think the DIY on top is stressing him out a lot. If it is too much we will do it ourselves (well aside from the cooker). Also friend is due at 12 so will make sure I have tidied the front room, it was the only place I kind of did half and then sat down and came on my laptop instead

Oh this reminds me of the 'cheap' sink we got yesterday. We travelled out to get it (half hour), got a bit lost (forty minutes), found the house eventually (forty five mins), sink is brand new and exactly what we have in our basket with the kitchen designer so we took it (saved £70). By this point we were hot and frazzled so we decided to stop in a pub for a drink in the beer garden (another hour later :lol) , lovely cold appletizer with ice and some crisps mmmmm. Anyway £10 spent there. Then DD calls on the way home- where are you it's late, we're hungry  I am so hot I say, I CBA cooking so we stop for a take out and spend £35 (2 hours now after we left home) so £45 spent now.....so overall we still saved £25 on the sink I guess and got a takeout and drink too. I did have to point it out to DP that we no longer had saved £70 when we ended up going out and then getting take away. Did make me laugh though, not all bargains end up being bargains :joy:

Maybe not but you had fun and still saved £25!
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Had a busy day so far and it's not finished. The cooker is out for delivery so I'm just sat waiting for it atm. The electrician came around earlier to quote for the kitchen job on top of the conservatory. I think it's going to cost a fair bit however I'd rather it done properly. The guy who lived here before us was a bit of a bodgit and scarper type and much of the electric that's been added by him is not safe.
My friend came round almost immediately after that and we had a good catch up, DD came home and sat with us too.
Right as she was leaving DP came home and the old owner of the house (not bodgit and scarper but the one after him- the one we bought from) turned up on the doorstep! He'd sent a parcel here by mistake so came by to retrieve it. So weird as I was literally saying to DP as he turned up oh look what arrived this morning! So we showed him what we'd done to the house since he'd been gone and the garden and he was very impressed! Phew. I would have felt awful if he'd been sad about anything we took out or changed. But luckily he hadn't done much tbh aside from hoard wood (he noticed it missing btw we didn't say much 🫣🫢). We invited him to pop back end of the project to see it all done.
As he was here I had my new pans delivered and a chair for DP (he's claiming back on work expenses so didn't mention it I don't think?).
Two minutes after that another delivery turned up 😦- I thought it was the cooker but it was the glazing for the new extension 😁 they think the builders are returning on Monday to get It started!

    Phew.
All done for now. Until the cooker turns up.
And then I have someone coming over 5:30 to talk to me too for an hour or so. I'm already exhausted. Busy day. 😱 Literally been non stop. Oh and I did two surveys earlier too so waiting for payment on them.

Sometimes it doesn't feel like it 😆.
I like to be busy sometimes but yesterday was too much. I didn't stop until nearly 9!

Well at the beginning of the year I did a vision board that I see quite often (just a small one on my phone this time and it's in one of my albums) I had on it a few things so not a specific thing like when I was trying to manifest the move last year. And I would sometimes sit and visualise myself having these things. Never got round to making the physical board which usually works really well for me.

So anyway here's a little mid year win story I guess for me.

I had visualised more peace in the house which hadn't been prevalent very much before this. Lots of tension esp after kids had been to dad's house . Anyway, in a way I wish it wasn't manifesting, the source of all tension is soon to move out - I am sad about this one I didn't want it to manifest in this way. But here we are, be careful what you wish for. Be specific 👀.

I also had on there to enjoy my job- whatever it may be. And that I would always be in the right job for the lessons I'm learning in a soul sense at any given time (so perhaps my current one is ok I do love the holidays). An opportunity has presented itself again that I turned down before, won't say much though until it goes anywhere and also not putting all eggs in one basket I remain open in case a better opportunity comes up or perhaps I'm in the right place already. Although I think I can do better....

I said at the beginning of the year (or maybe even end of last year) DIY was going on hold I was officially burned out from it from doing three houses up in five years. It was nonstop..I said three rooms tops. I didn't specify which three though...Well, technically DD room was done last year as we finished most of it on NYE 😏 seriously up a ladder at nearly midnight wearing wallpaper paste in my hair is not how I envisioned my Nye. 😆. So fast forward and three rooms are being done. All at once mind you 😌🫠🥲. The dining room (new extension area), second living area (new extension)- one area and kitchen (second room) and the new downstairs shower room (brand new room)...😆😆😏 This is not what I meant but the universe heard otherwise as I did have three rooms on my list. I meant probably a bedroom or two and maybe tart up the small toilet room 😂. Oh well.

I also had a picture of a pretty garden. I looked at it this morning and realised I had nearly created that exact garden 😱.

And lastly, a second car for the house/ teaching DD to drive. Not using expensive credit.
I hadn't manifested this yet, DD was complaining about driving schools being a year long wait for lessons and we should have booked when she was 15/ 16 😐🙄 seriously?! Anyway we got 0% for the kitchen which we paid for yesterday by the way, and as I was on FB MP I saw an ad for the cutest little car which seemed too good to be true as super low mileage as old as our one now, and tiny perfect for learning and town driving...we went to see it, it drove lovely, it was the owners house we went to, rather than a dodgy dealer and so we left a deposit 😐😆. Sometimes these things just go like that. So we are collecting it on Tuesday and it will technically be mine but I have to say as cute as it is the other car is more me. It is perfect for DD though (and quick shopping trips for us all) paid for with cash. So no cars on finance. The kitchen will be 0%
    >>>>>
so yes, by mid July I've managed to get everything bar the new job on my VB. 🙏🏻😀
Not all in the way I'd rather it be done but I wasn't specific enough (clearly 👀😆).

Very busy day yesterday again. I'd forgotten I'd agreed to be a guinea pig for a friend who teaches on a weekend and needed people for her students to practice on. Literally remembered as I went to bed on Friday.
So got up, did that, came home, went to see the car, came home, cooked and fed all and then DD came with us to big Swedish shop to buy the kitchen. By the time we got home I was all peopled out - I am sat in the garden currently enjoying the sun before it gets too hot..it's all been watered and looks nice. I've been watching the butterflies flit around and bees and birds. Bird bath filled for them so they can cool down. Peaceful as it can be with a busy-ish road and church bells going and small kids playing/ fighting in the gardens a few roads away (not too loud).

DP is starting the tiling on the chimney breast (inside bit) I've asked him to come get me when he starts as I want to learn. The cooker has arrived. The sink was perfect - only checked it thoroughly this morning oops- and the kitchen... Well! We got there all ready to pay and we wandered around as we were early. I said before I'd ummed and ahhed about which colour to go for and I chose the lighter colour. As I went in I thought nope that's not what I want 😆. Every time I've been to the shop one kitchen in particular has my attention...the darker one (a green one). So I quietly wandered between the two showroom kitchens and listened to my intuition (don't always do that 😉) and yes I wanted the dark one. So we went and changed it and paid. Didn't work out a lot more expensive but it was slightly. happy with my choice as we have a lot of lights going in so it will be bright which is why I said no to it before in case it was too dark...
We are spending the day in today as I think we're both exhausted.

I need to sort tax and insurance out for the car on Tuesday. And end of next week I think our car is going in for the things that failed the MOT. At least we'll have a secondary car whilst they have it.

I've already harvested courgettes by the glut and cucumber too this morning. Several of each 🙏🏻😀 I better get looking at recipes or we will get bored with my usual. I got one gherkin too! Lol. Tomatoes are still all green I think I've had three now off one plant and am waiting on the rest.

Right off to help DP he's ready for me now..hope everyone has a good day.

I love courgette soup, freezes great.  Just courgette,  white onion,  a bit potato and stock.  Smush it up once cooked, yummy

re the tension lifting.  I've got a sense from your last few posts that things are already a bit better between your lad and the rest of the household?  Perhaps he's feeling like he's got choices and is happier having made his choice?  Hopefully either he will get there and enjoy it and the bit space between you all will allow him to look back at the situation and see what an unnecessary !!!!!! he was and will continue to develop a more mature relationship with you that will continue into proper adulthood.  Or he will get there, be happy as proverbial sand boy whilst he's allowed to do whatever he wants then the scales will slide as he sees that nagging (in his eyes) is because he's actively loved and being cared for, being allowed to do what he wants can also be benign neglect

Either way I'm hoping your relationship improves.   My mum and I got along much better once I was in my own home
