Morning DFW, once my 2 had PT jobs i stopped giving them pocket money, basics were still paid for and i would buy them basic toiletries, fav chocolate bar/treat in the grocery shop and basic clothes/underwear/school uniform etc but refused to subsidise maccy d or expensive make up and designer clothes. At 16 my son also had a vape habit and wasted a lot of money on those online game packs, thankfully he has grown up and neither are a problem now. Keep the faith that he will ride through it! xx

Out of curiosity has the idiot ex actually booked and paid for the Egypt holiday that he has promised.
Luckily DD loves vinted and charity shops (I trained her well 😆) and she doesn't spend too much on clothes. It's DS who always wants expensive stuff when he needs new. My oldest DS also used to spend a lot on games so I know they kinda grow out of it (ds1 still plays them though but I guess not as much as he works). I need to keep the faith for sure. I'm glad I already have two older kids because I'd be despairing right now at everything this boy does. Last night he went out at 8am and didn't return until 7pm!! Told me he went to the gym after school..... He must think I was born yesterday.

On the holiday...I'm not sure....I suspect heavily it's not booked. Yet...

I received an email yesterday to say there are jobs at my workplace - same as what I do- and my friend is looking to move jobs so I sent it on to her to look at and she wants to apply. I said I'd help with the personal statement as that's what gets you through the door for interview. We worked together two jobs ago (the one I had at the school) and we both managed the team together so I can basically pull that bit out of my personal statement as a starting point and reword for her. And then chat to her about the other things she's done and write it up. It might be nice if a friend was working in the same place as me.

The builders aren't here yet...the foundation went down yesterday- well the concrete base. The foundation was already laid. 😃
So I wonder if they will leave it to dry for today - oh scrap that I can hear them down there now. They've just arrived 🌞.

I need to source some bits for the chimney job today. Gaffa tape and dust sheets. DP is talking about making a ki1l room style space (Dexter reference) to contain dust 😆.

Today I am fasting. I'm aiming for one meal a day. Just to kick start some weight loss. Thankfully it's so hot I don't eat too much in the heat and it should be easier than winter. I think I need to lose a few lbs for joints to stop aching so much so I can start exercising properly. -lots of tea for me today.

Oh not sure if I mentioned but I have had my tax refund letter through from the emergency tax I was charged. So within a week I should have the £100+ back. I am debating using it to finish paying the debt off the elec bill....but I will see where I'm at when it comes through I might need it elsewhere.

Omg I just weighed myself and could cry. I'm going to blame this huge weight gain on menopause. *Fingers in ears and la la la to anything else 😆*

So for accountability I am 5'3". I weighed in at 12st.1lb this morning. 😳😧 I didn't weigh anywhere near this even when 9 months pregnant with the kids. 😬. My dress size fluctuates depending on where I buy so anything from a 12 to 14. Trouser size is the same.

First goal is to get under 12st. I can do that right?

I am also aiming for 5000 steps every day... I'd like to do more but knee is giving me grief as is my foot if I walk too far.

I'll set a second goal if and when I can make it past the first goal 😬🫣. And to think I used to think myself fat when I weighed 9st omg I could kick myself.

Right let's do this. 💪🏻 (Ps anyone know any tried and tested exercises for Bingo wings and fat thighs 🤣).

I'd love to be your weight !  Im same height but another 3 stone.  In my head I'm still 8 and a half stone, no idea where this extra person has come from that I carry about with me.  Should you find the bw/ft magic spell please share  😀

I have a vague memory of being 8.5stone too 🤣 then all of a sudden I put on half a stone and couldn't shift it. And now this seems to be my new current weight I can't shift 😒.
DP and I had a walk to the gym to have a look around. I think I might see another one too for comparison. I've got my steps in for the day though so that's something 😆🤣. I also fasted for 20 hours. And it was good. Wasn't hungry at all. Eating window is now open and I will fast again after dinner.

DP is off until Monday now. He's finishing the chimney breast off, raising it up and putting a new lintel in. The building inspector has told us what we need to do alongside the regs and the builder also offered some useful guidance so I think we're ok...we also have a skip on site to get rid of the waste. We also need to lift some floors up and see what's lurking under them so we can see where the water pipes can be relocated to.
I've got the dentist today and I'm trying to get my friend to see me. She's gone into shutdown mode after a very bad week at work. There is a job I know she's perfect for at work (same as mine- and she's a far better fit than me!) so I'm trying to get her to commit to a time so I can get some info from her to write her a personal statement for the job. I will use mine to compare as we have similar backgrounds job wise and family wise....
I also need to pop to the shop, eggs for DS, cheese for DD, crisps (where do they all go so quickly?!) and a few other bits which escape my memory now.
I'm going to make space in the garage today for the freezer, then move that out of the dining room. And I'm also going to move all the boxes of books out of the dining room. That just leaves a sideboard and sofa in there which we will have to work around I think as there is no where else to put it all.
Then DP can get to the floor....
Right best go and get ready for the dentist now!

Oh dear, my house very quickly (in a morning) went from organised DIY job to absolute chaos with furniture and pictures and 'things' everywhere. DP has not even started on the chimney breast yet he's been too busy clearing the room out and making the space safe for lots of dust. He's still taping up polyurethane sheets as I type 😆. I've come to the living room surrounded with washing and paperwork and pictures and mirrors and plants looking for peace 😳 none to be found here. Yikes. I hope that the chimney breast is easy enough to do. And I hope that the kitchen we decide to order will be quick in arriving and also the extension is done quick cos this is utter chaos right now 😆😬.

Dentist appointment done. I enquired about teeth whitening. Omgosh it's expensive. Anyone know if any home whitening kits are any good? My teeth aren't that bad but I'd like to whiten them. Dentist was £28 I think or thereabouts.

I also spent at lidl. So that was taken from the food pot, think around £32.

Receipts all in the car up the road as we can't use the drive 😬😆 so will check later.

I'm going to attempt to clear a kitchen side now and make some banana bread. We've lots of bananas that have turned black. otherwise I'll have to chuck them today if I can't get to any sides (esp with DP working about 18ft away in an open room might not bother)....

Usual £200 OP has gone out. This is going to feel like a drop in the ocean now to a larger mortgage. Not sure it will even make that much difference. Will go find the OP calculator on here and see....
