That's good to know it does make a difference. Obviously our cheap rate runs out 2027 though so if I can find some extra money I may try and up my monthly payment from £200....
I'm waiting to see how much my monthly interest is going to be too. If I can match that in OPs then that's a whole grand coming off the mortgage each month.

That looks like a pretty good OP to me :)

I have a new teeth whitening option I have been using. It's slow but effective and doesn't cause sensitivity, which is a big issue for me. I will DM you.

I've spent a couple of hours on a kitchen design program online. It's the best one I've tried (ik3a) to make the most of the space I've had compromise a few things I really wanted though so I'm not very happy with it. Hoping the designer tomorrow can do a better job. I've had to get rid of the island and choose a peninsula instead and the larder cupboard won't fit as I need the fridge to go there. Hmm. Still it looks a thousand times better than what we currently have.

Meanwhile DP has found two lintels! One looked high enough to me at 5 ft off the ground then I was reminded the extractor has to go in as well as taller people than me cooking 🤣 so DP had to take both out and buy a new one. So far costs for this project are 1.12% of what we were quoted. We paid £28 basically over the 2.5k quote. 😱

hi, I just wanted to suggest DIY kitchens for you to have a look at.  Their cupboards come already built and are meant to be good quality and good prices.  They dont design it for you but they have a good online system you can use to design it yourself,  Its where i will be getting mine when we eventually get round to renewing it.  Ive been to their showroom in Yorkshire, which is like a day out, but I think they have a couple more showrooms now, not sure where though.   Just thought I'd mention it incase you hadn't heard of or thought of them.

Thanks @libster08 a friend mentioned them to me. I tried to use their design tool and was getting nowhere it was really hard and glitchy. I might try again tonight in case it was just a connection issue. I didn't realise they had a showroom. We are off to Sheffield tomorrow...south yorks I will see where the diy showroom is thank you 😁.

Edited to say it looks like they're about 40 minutes from Sheffield so we might be able to go after! (Hopefully I'm looking at the right website now).

Its in South Kirby, West Yorkshire,  definitely go there if you get a chance, the showroom is gorgeous.  They always seem to get really good reviews.   I also picked up a paper planner from their reception desk.

Me either! About an hour in the car. I've had another look on their website and the prices seem more expensive than IK3a though so not sure if they're in budget (although way less money than some other places we've looked at!)

Loving all the kitchen chat. And well done on the £200 over payment. Every little helps!
