Right! As I said above I have delivered another letter to the SM of the old job, he opened it there and then looking very sheepish (I don't think it helps that I am older than him and I feel even I have more natural authority vibes than he does as 'the boss') and then asked if I wanted to come back. I wish I could share the letter I wrote with you all because you would also be saying, ummm why does he want you back you weren't very nice to him?
I finally found the paint shop - woop. I had walked past it yesterday with FLD, it was down a busy stretch and I think he was getting lots of fussing at the time and I just totally missed it. So I will start that project soonI have one more module left on the course I started, then I can sign that off as finished, I get a certificate but am unsure if it goes towards CPD - oh it does, I just checked, that is good. I need to get some new insurance for public liability if I am going ahead with courses etc. It has just run out. Typically...
We got the new CT bill through and I have paid this months and also set up a DD for next month. I've added myself to the bills account so that I have full control over sorting the bills out without DP needing to be there. He's starting his new job on Tuesday and needs to concentrate on that rather than me every five minutes asking him for details on bills etcI will send some money over to the EF now and then update totals on here.
Not a NSD, DP and I stopped for a quick bite to eat whilst out and about (£19) and I popped into 9rimark for some new socks (and ended up spending £45 on DD and myself 🙈- I may take back the top I bought for me though, I didn't try it on and I am oddly shaped so if it doesn't fit it's going back!)MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Morning all,
Both tops fitted me which I was happy about as I liked both. So nothing to go back.
I'm going to try and do a few jobs we've been meaning to do since moving in today or tomorrow. DP is off out most of the week in all sorts of places, Manchester and London and everywhere in between so won't be around much for a few weeks. He's really nervous and has been a bit snipey with me the last week but we got some cards out last night and pulled some for him, all abundant ones and happy and moving on ones so hopefully he feels calmer. I know change is hard for lots of people though so I will try to ignore the stress levels rising in him till he's started the new job and chilled a bit.
Dare I say it: I am aiming for a NSD. I do need to do another food shop before DP goes but hoping to eek out what we have until Monday and I can do it then.
Savings accounts are starting to get topped up again. We're putting money away for the car maintenance even though we have service plans. I said we ought to start doing it anyway as the service plans doesn't cover everything. We could always use the money for something else anyway...I mean look how this last month went 😂 I drained every pot to get us through it. Xmas, birthday, clothes, health all paid for food... 💯 Grateful we had them!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. It was punctures and tyres that generally caught people on the service plans out when I looked after the car allowance stuff years ago.Good luck with the NSD, I always end up reminding myself that I hate shopping when it's busy and it will be so much quieter on Monday. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

So today we have taken the dog on a nice walk, he had some energy today which was good so we made full use of that and he had a lovely time out sniffing, peeing on everything he can and saying hello to people
We have emptied one half of the garage out and it is in the loft now 🥳 we have been meaning to do this since we moved in! DP is going to put a shelf up in the kitchen for me in a mo, and I have taken one door off to paint on the cupboards - I wanted to make sure we liked the colour before committing fully. I sanded it down and it isn't any wonder that it was chipping so badly, it hadn't even been cleaned, never mind sanded down before painting. So I have sanded back almost to the wood again and cleaned thoroughly before putting two coats of paint on. I will hang it once it is dry and see how we like it. I am liking it so far though it is like a cheery apple green so nice and bright but not too bright
I have managed to get two washes out on the line today too so need to get them in soon before it gets too cold again.
I am cooking a bulk veggie mince/ bolognaise dinner - hopefully will make enough for three dinners. I have started using half red lentils and half brown instead of all red. It gives it a different texture and depth that all red lacks.
I need to do a bit of reading up on stuff before that interview on Monday but I am feeling brighter about the whole thing. I adapted my vision board this morning, did my daily gratitude list and meditated on it for a while. So feeling happy, and positive now rather than fearful.
I have one more module to be marked before I am given my course marks but I have passed already as it is averaged out and I have mainly 95-100% on all other ones. So can tick that off the vision board as done. It only took me 3 years to do since buying it
Still waiting on lots of surveys to go from pending to paid. I also have £100+ on my quicdo now that is tracked just need to wait for payout.
Right think that is all for today

I passed my course with a distinction 🥳 So I can tick that off my vision board. I paid for that course 5 years ago now and only just got round to doing it 🫣😁🏅 Oops haha.
I also finished the free course I have been doing all week, it's been really fun and I would love to pay to do the full course with the paid content but right now I don't want another financial commitment so I think I will leave it. This last week or so has really reminded me I love learning though.
I have also done at least half of my cross stitch kit.
And the lady who put me forward for the interview tomorrow messaged me and has basically screenshot what they want to know / will talk about / ask me in the interview to help me. I didn't even ask (thought that was a bit cheeky) so I will spend an hour prepping for that later, it is mostly stuff I know tbh having worked with vulnerable people and young adults before, so just a refresher.
Feeling positive still which is great. Will do my gratitude and visualisation meditation later before I go to sleep so I wake up in a fresh happy mood. -Ready for the interview (which BTW I am grateful I booked an early slot for so no stressing all day beforehand!)
Today's jobs:-- Ironing
- walk dog
- tidy kitchen (i was painting quite late yesterday and left it a mess)
- Make the bulk bolognaise as I ran out of time yesterday, we had a late lunch too so wasn't hungry, so we made a light pasta dish with salad.
- Get ID together for the interview.
- Hopefully a NSD I can't think of anything I need?

- Prepped for interview. Used AI to help me remember the 9 characteristics of the equality act as I always forget one (pregnancy would you believe) apparantly I just need to remember, a dog gave my parrot really red socks suddenly. Would be great but I keep replacing parrot with rabbit- the only one I used to always forget anyway...what is this strange mental block?! Anyway I will try to remember the sentence as I used to have a parrot and a dog when growing up so just have to remember Bill & Ben (their names
) and I might have a chance of remembering lol
