Thank you, yes seeing his little face and a new life starting out really has focused my mind.

I've recently received a message from another creditor saying they're looking for contractual payments from now on. I thought it was only the two loans I'd set up arrangements with. Oh well they will get nothing until default 😀
  • Have felt rough today, slept most of it. Feeling like there's a cold on the way, just a bit washed out like. Anyway had a shower about two hours ago and then something to eat and starting to feel a bit better. Daughter met up with a friend tonight who has been at Uni. I said I would come and pick them up and drop the friend home. He lives close by. Buses are hit and miss on a Sunday. Here I am... waiting 😁. Glad it's not cold

I hope you're all safely home now! How lovely you've been able to see your new grandson.

Here I go for a year of debt busting. I've negotiated one lower payment but that's it so far. The ones with debt collectors are just doing their thing which is how I like it.
Been snowing here this evening, as in most other places I expect, but rain on the way. Waiting for daughter to get home from work. Said she's going to drive her colleagues home first.
Two loads of washing done tonight and one load in tumble dryer. I've heard it's cheaper to do it later in the evening.
Went back to work on Friday. I am so lucky to always have the time off between Christmas and New year, but boy. It took all my energy to turn the laptop on 😊

It's been up and down since January, mainly down. Am in the process of renegotiating with creditors as have had to drop a day from work. My mental health was suffering again due to the caring role I have. I care for my sister who is 10 years older than me, and I'm 56. She struggles with daily living due to autism and mental health issues. Trouble is she's not comfortable with people and so gets very distressed if I mention carers, so I don't mention it anymore and just get on with it.
Everything is going up, not sure how people on a normal wage are expected to live. Worries me sick sometimes. Anyway, debt is the least of my troubles and that's how I will view it.
Busy day at work tomorrow which is good then off to the cinema - watching the lady in the yard - or something like that. I'm looking forward to it, going with my sister to get her out.

Hope you had a nice time out with your sister. Good shout on the perspective about money. It is only money at the end of the day. People are worth more.

Thank you, was a good film, hard hitting. Payday in a fortnight and living on pennies till then but I'm easy about it. I'm slowly starting to understand now what people have been saying to me for years...you have to look after yourself first.  I will clear the debt as soon as I can but not outside my means, nice and steady slightly lower payments. As long as I keep a roof over our heads, have heat and food when we need it, then I've not done too bad.
Love Thursday Tele - dragons den then the apprentice 😀

I just had a quick look back at the beginning of your thread and you give your total income, but you don't mention if you are getting attendance allowance or carer's allowance or if your sister gets PIP? Sorry if you've already gone through all this and I missed it. Times are tough and you deserve any help you are eligible for. Turn2us Benefits Calculator
