Busy day today, the cleaning bug has hit me. Two loads of washing done, clean and tidy kitchen and beds changed.
My birthday next week and I'm being treated to a day in London (weather permitting). Looking forward to a bit of sunshine, it's been wet and miserable for what seems like weeks.
More creditor phone calls today, and plenty more to come I expect 🤔.

Ooh, please pass on the cleaning bug…that’s one bug I can never catch 🤣

  • Hi WW, lovely meal - carvery. The place was packed as you'd expect but we had a nice booth so was in our own space sort of thing.
    As for today...an update:
Leak in the bathroom - fixed
Leak in the airing cupboard - fixed
    Stairlift - fixed
    Budget - sorted
    DMP amounts - sorted
Car boot stuff - being gathered
    Defaults - awaited
Life - already feeling better 🤘
Weather - could be better 🤣

    Great update :)

You've got this! As others advise on here, don't let any letters or calls get you down - the former are automated and you've got a plan so you can stick to it.

Good luck on your journey! Following your diary.
  • Hi WW and londoner2019
I had a mishap with the cleaning bug, I lost it. No idea where it's gone. But I might get it again one day 🤔😂.
Washing on the line yesterday blowing about nearly dry, I went to visit my sister, it started raining, pouring, came back to sopping washing on the line. So annoying as I was debating whether to get it in before I went. It's still out there now 😲.
Payday next week - yay. Will be transferring debt payments to emergency fund - it's so exciting.
Oh and I've had a lovely email from a creditor asking if there's anything they can do to help me - I was going to respond but don't think I will. I'm having nothing to do with them until I start payments. Go me!
    Have a lovely day
  • Re the cleaning bug - I appear to have been inoculated against it and never, EVER catch it.  Good diary OP btw.  BiB x

    Thank you BiB 😀 xx
Miserable Saturday here weather wise. Never mind I have lots to keep me busy. Still going through boxes etc from moving to see what I can add to the car boot pile. First car boot round here is at Easter so that's the one I'm aiming for. I also need to schedule a dump run soon. I say I have things to keep me busy but in reality I may just go for a snooze 😴.
  • Snooze sounds like a good plan! I am also innoculated against the cleaning bug, sounds like it doesn't last long! I am forever looking and tweaking my budget, my personal budget isn't too bad, but the joint budget is always giving me a hard time! I also totally get the desire to be rid, sounds daft, but I didn't think about how long even £1k takes to pay back when your income isn't massive, now I know, will definitely help me not do the same in the future. Best of luck, and keep up the good work
  • Today, I have moved money into the emergency fund and does it feel good - yes it does 🤘.
Tomorrow is food shopping, stocking up cupboards and freezer. Meal plan done. First proper month into DMP and I'm go go go.
  • Had a lovely day in London yesterday, went for a walk around Chrystal Palace Park, the sun was out and it felt good to feel it on my face. Then daughter drove us through London, boy, that was emotional. She kept her cool but it wasn't easy and I'm a rubbish passenger. I'm so used to doing the driving and I'm not good at not being in control.
A couple of things have cropped up which will mean dipping into emergency fund and I only really started it Monday 😲. Every time I put money aside, something crops up and takes it - oh well such is life 🤔. At least I had it there 😀.
Today I'm seeing my sister then cracking on with the washing. Possibly more sorting, but more likely a good film and a cuppa.

It does take a while to get the emergency fund to a point where an emergency doesn’t break it!
