What. A. Busy. Week.Oh my.Head is still spinning from a hectic work week- day off tomorrow but have some work still to do- only going to set aside 20mins tomorrow for a bit of it and then enjoy the rest of the day off. But.. loads of housework and washing and chores to do. What a mission this week has felt like. Both DS’s shattered and struggling, DS2 particularly. By the time I got to work this week at 8:30am I already felt like I’d done a days work. It’s been a lot. Ready for a mega chill weekend and productive in parts for a smooth ish next week. I don’t really need a big shop as freezer is full so I might just try and hold out and do a batch cook mince- bol/chilli and see if I can last it without a proper shop.Sleep time already.Hopefully a nice horse ride tomorrow, that should give me some lift and relaxation ❤️Emergency Fund: 1000/2000April Grocery Challenge: 150/550

The week/s are still being busy. I’m over it! Majorly need the xmas break. Lots of stress- not financial thankfully, just life stuff. Regardless I’m fighting the good fight but I’m so tired. Just slept for 12 hours. A little wake up for 30mins at 5am and back to sleep. I needed that.
So things going well are work,
finances and being more organised, having paid off all DMP I’m feeling good. Working on EF but xmas has other ideas, think I’ve got majority of presents organised. And a food shop/delivery booked- not too extravagant.I’m not getting wrapped up (😂 xmas pun) in the hoopla of Xmas stress this year.I’m more excited about keeping it all a bit chill and enjoying some down time with my boys. May nip over to see a friend for a sleepover one night but nothing more than that planned.
The usual chores of washing and floors to do but aside from that and adding a couple more xmas gifts to the basket, I’ll be chilling completely out this weekend! 🎉Emergency Fund: 1000/2000April Grocery Challenge: 150/550

Much washing done, much to do. Floors hoovered and mopped. Beds washed. Dog walked, garden a bit sorted, xmas- few bits checked out. In bed by 8pm 👵🏼😆. Listened to audiobooks and podcasts all day, still going… it really helped me do the boring chores and chill but not feel like I’m not doing anything! Also relaxing and thought provoking. I’ve not really gotten into audiobooks before, I think I’m being converted.Felt so much better after forcing myself to get those chores done that I didn’t want to. I keep having to remind myself the thought of it needing doing is worse than actually doing it, the thoughts also last longer than actually doing it.I am just shattered by life atm. Last week of work and then I’ll be hunkering down for a real break. Feeling a bit burnout vibes even though I’m being really mindful about self care where possible but there is so many basic things that need doing, from waking to getting into bed, life has just been way to busy and stressful the last few weeks, I absolutely need a break, reset and start again.I am looking forward to a rest and then planning some goals for 2025. I want to see the new year in with a new view, now DMP free, EF top of the agenda and not being so exhausted!Emergency Fund: 1000/2000April Grocery Challenge: 150/550

The Sunday sleeplessness. I will go back to sleep by 4am! 🤞🏼 Had two long sleeps the previous two nights so this is to be expected! Must get more sleep though or work is going to be very difficult. The upside of being awake nowdays at this time.. is I do like to go over budget and plans in this witching hour.I’ve got a plan for 2025 finances and really want to achieve it. I must do better on groceries and takeaway so I am going to keep tracking that and working on it. I so want a holiday too, but bathroom floor and house and car and life probably not going to allow. I’ll work on it. Things with DS2 and school hanging in the balance which will have a major impact if it goes much further south. Major stress there.I think I’ll lay out my new 2025 plan in a new diary on here in the new year and just plan and try and hope for the best!In the mean time I think said I’d like to get EF up to £1k before end of the year... 😳 not looking likely atm. I will endeavour to be mindful but what a time of year to try and be financially responsible! Though DS1 did say he doesn’t want anything else for Xmas and I’ve got all of his list so that’s nice and unusual! Stocking fillers to get and maybe one more present for each of them? Need to do another add up of how much I’ve spent so far and check it’s fair. Will do that now and then hopefully go for the second sleep! 🤞🏼🤞🏼Emergency Fund: 1000/2000April Grocery Challenge: 150/550

A pretty good day. Rode friends horse, walked dog, done a bit of the washing, bed changed- 1 out of 3 anyway!.. bit of decluttering, tidy, bathroom cleaned, chilled.I’m getting annoyed at my house and the clutter seems to be multiplying despite my best efforts so I am making a return to some more serious decluttering over the xmas break and general house sorting. I want to see in the new year with the house looking better. There are some big things that need doing but also I can get the place much more ship shape with little bits here and there too. I think I’d like to paint the walls and generally freshen it up next year. I did some of the rooms in 2021 but didn’t really finish it all or do a great job 😩. I will do a white emulsion freshen up in 2025…. Adding to my 2025 wish list and goals!Christmas presents are all purchased, shopping delivery on Monday. Wrapping and cleaning/sorting tomorrow with helpings of chilling out in between.Emergency Fund: 1000/2000April Grocery Challenge: 150/550

Dog walked, floors hoovered and mopped, all current presents wrapped (more on the way 🤞🏼), decluttered and tidied a bit. House looks more under control already, and I do find it addictive when I get going, especially when I don’t put pressure on myself to do loads, I’m just thinking do 1% and then I feel like doing a bit more! Definitely done some major decluttering this year and it’s nice to feel like I’ve got a handle on the house, though it’s ongoing, feels like it doesn’t take much to get back to some sense of order nowadays. So for the rest of the day: pjs, telly, yummy food and chill 🎉.Emergency Fund: 1000/2000April Grocery Challenge: 150/550
