Building work still ongoing and no overpayments this month or next still. I am way down on groceries and had no takeaways this month so far. I am still cutting it fine. Can’t wait for building work to be done and July MOT out of the way. Keeping head above water June and July. Just standard payments to DMP. Looking like December still as the debt free finish line. I’m just thinking about heading into the new year debt free for the first time in years and years/most of my adult life. And especially out of control debt that was happening in the last decade. I was living off of ever increasing credit cards and unable to bring it down.I am so hopeful for 2025 being a year to build savings and emergency funds and 2026 I would like to go on holiday perhaps. It feels possible.Roll on debt free life.
Some gardening later as per my Sun routine, not loads to do just some pruning/weeding. Lean week for shopping- no big shop, freezer is full.I’m finding I’m being so much more mindful in all areas of life, I’m budgeting my time too. I don’t want to go out/socialise or spend time with people that cost me energy. I feel so much better for allowing myself rest and saying no thank you. My value is going up as the debt is going down. I feel so much more in control across all areas of life.Hope this continues and no curve balls happen/bathroom floor holds out and MOT is not terrible! 🤞🏼🎉Emergency Fund: 1000/2000August Grocery Challenge: 97/550

How about cooking yourself a Fakeaway rather than getting a Takeaway? Plenty of recipes on line depending on what you fancy.1

Garden pottered in,
3 bags to charity shop,
batch cooked and last grocery shop of the month done.
£200 in building pot which used to be my overpayment pot 😫 but building work still ongoing. Need to bump that up to £500 come payday. No overpayments this month but in 1st July I’ll be on 62/100 steps. Then countdown to MOT. Building work wiped out that pot so need to thrown a good few hundred back in there again. A lean month ahead in July. Then hopefully car will be ok for another year, building work should be done and I can get back in to overpayments 🤞🏼 still on track for being debt free from December even if I make the standard payments and no OP. I’m happy with that, if a tad impatient! 2024 I’m going to leave you debt free and it will feel great! #determinedEmergency Fund: 1000/2000August Grocery Challenge: 97/550

Another weekend of some major chills, nature and self care. Some gardening and household chores. Got money in the builder pot 😅 none in the overpayment pot. Plodding on though with the usual £455 going to DMP tomorrow. Ready for July to be done financially.. MOT I’ve been dreading.. then August looks good for having some time off, seeing family, turning 41 and getting so much closer to debt freedom by the end of the year.Emergency Fund: 1000/2000August Grocery Challenge: 97/550

£2323 left of £6000 debt to pay off this year. I’m feeling quite happy with that. £450 in my pay the builder pot 😫 which could have gone to overpayment. But the work needs doing. Still on track to be debt free at the end of the year. Then to be up £455 per month will be marvellous. Will save then to make a large buffer hopefully so I no longer have to be circling the drain of financial mess! I really cannot wait. Then I need a newer car and I’d love a holiday, that will probably be 2025/2026 but I definitely feel like I’ve turned things around.Still not managed to get groceries down lots, have cut way down in takeaways. Need to drink less wine and lose weight. I feel constantly exhausted. Will be making some further positive changes for the future in these aspects. I’ve stayed on top of the decluttering, even amongst the building works, still some work to do on the garden and officey area and utility room. Having a nice reflection this morning on where I am and where I want to be and what to do to get there.Emergency Fund: 1000/2000August Grocery Challenge: 97/550

Another week! Still on it… Being as good as poss with groceries. Still £450 in building pot and therefore no overpayments. MOT coming in 10days. Rest of July and August will be a lean couple of months. Which will be difficult as it’s the summer holidays. Hopefully nearly there with building works. Doing some calculations and September I need to pay for a birthday, party etc- DS2. I’m thinking October and November will be ok financially and should be done December with the whole DMP! I’m probably not going to need to do too much overpaying actually.. I think maybe just £50 total as the monthly DMP covers the remaining balance to get debt by free Jan. Well fingers crossed! My credit rating has gone up this month. All going in the right direction, just hope the blooming car and building work are not going to be too hard on the £’s.In other news I’m feeling so introverted at the moment, I am liking it though! I think the budgeting also is making me think so hard about my priorities at the moment. I don’t want to go out where I will have to spend money! I didn’t even think about getting a coffee, snacks etc when out and about but now I just feel repulsed about my hard earned being spent so frivolously!Emergency Fund: 1000/2000August Grocery Challenge: 97/550

It's funny how our perspective changes isn't it. I was the same just frittering money away on things without a thought. Now I'm looking at every penny 🤣 perhaps sometimes a little too obsessively.
