You need to weigh your meat portions @Watty1 if you're not making the chicken stretch. And have the meat as the smallest part of the meal. So for a roast, 85g-100g of cooked chicken (standard portion) with all your veg. But then make the next meal something where you need less than that e.g. chicken and chickpea and veg curry or traybake, or a stir fry which is mostly veg with a bit of chicken as garnish/flavour, then make stock and use the pickings for a risotto or noodle soup, and the rest of the stock for veg-based soup. Second boiling of stock can be used for WattyDog if watery - if still rich, use for people and do third boiling for WattyDog (remembering not to add any onions).

now those are some very good ideas. Thank you. The meat has been the smallest part of both meals - but - i think the first roast was way too big a portion and probably yesterdays was too to be honest. A second boiling of the bones sounds a really good idea. I am moving more towards veggie meals though and that has been a big saving!
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
I used to make risotto with the last scraps of the chicken and obviously the stock if you add parmesan and peas it is lush.
