This, is the powerful part - the physical act of mentioning whilst drawing a line through each and every trace. You got this Watty.Cherryfudge said:What @Humdinger1 says... it may be he has to be mentioned to draw a line through each trace that remains.

Thank you all. I am not sure if I can express how moved I am by the comments. This little corner of the world has bought me so much peace and, to be honest, processing space over this year. I Everything that happened really took it out of me but I have managed my life really well. With just a few weeks left I'm still working on my year plan
I'm not even going to think about 2026 yet as there is still enough time in 2025 to smash my goals.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

On the subject of PPHs, mine wasn't as bad as many. But it's 35 years since I've seen him with the next & last (phone) contact from him 26 years ago, to say he wouldn't be helping his son to go to uni as no-one helped him. I got no maintenance for those almost 4 years. I still get the occasional urge to kick him round the room but it reminds me not to say yes dear. I think some of us need these reminders so we avoid the same traps.5

My tuppence worth is, while going through times of change and turbulence on many fronts, being able to unwind the thread to where you would like to change the stitch is mentally healthy, and also its normal for everyone to feel the ripples of the past in the present (and we're all fuming and appalled about PPH and we don't even know the kn*bber)

The chatter has been thought provoking. i started this diary in January 2024 because, unlike many in this part of the forum I was not trying to pay off a mortgage but was sitting back then MF but with no money and very little in the pension pot. If the settlement had been fair and equitable I would have had my pension property and therefore an income. I would have been financially comfortable.
I maybe would have vanished into a gentle life. Instead I've scraped along, done a lot of jolly good hard work and I have managed to add some money into a pension pot, into an ISA, done quite a bit on the house, have a little EF (will dwindle as I gamble on the planning permission) and actually I have a really nice life, a really nice relationship and yes it is jolly hard work getting here. I've learnt a lot about myself as I've gone along. I probably will learn more next year.
However sticking with the focus that there is still time to the end of the year, today charming cob has his chiropractic, I teach the final session of the course and will spend the evening writing the report the board requires which will be £125 into the ISA. A lot of the other things I would like to tick off before the end of the year require a little more time than I have spare today so that will be it for the day. Must dash now as dinner needs to go into the slow cooker - sticking with the meal plan, today is a stew. The mini goal is to make a slow cooker meal three times a week that will serve us and freeze another portion for 2 so I build a stash of ready meals for when the snow comes
