Good to hear from you.
I suspect the build up and anticipation takes as much out of you as the actual procedure and anaesthetic. Be kind to yourself and rest as much as you can. You have a PA - she can field things for you for a bit if it all gets too much.

Watty1 said:One of my girlfriends is being made redundant from her main job - she has another one day a week - but the loss of this one will hit her hard. We discussed options over cups of tea and cake, and I was, I admit, surprised. I think I have hung out on here for so long that emergency funds, a back up plan, options are things we all have filed in our brains.
To be with someone who knew the writing was on the wall potentially a year ago, has continued to spend, has credit card debt and a huge mortgage, well, I was anxious for her. I understood flying to see her daughter in New Zealand as she misses her but the designer kitchen I could not make sense of. She has previously not been understanding of my weekend working to create my course and all I do outside of the Monday to Friday 9 to 5 and it struck me how different "us lot" are to "others" I'm laughing of course. What seems normal to us is clearly not normal to others.Sorry to hear you had to have a biopsy but I suggest maximise your rest now - it’s always better than trying to struggle on -DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Great that the lumps have disappeared.... I would imagine that they can't have been anything really nasty or they'd still have been there, but good that they've taken biopsy to make certain.Use any method available to rest as much as you can... the hospital don't say take 2 weeks for no reason.Sending healing thoughts and gentle (((hugs))) XXXI Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Recovery going well. I suspect in part the exhaustion is not just the general anaesthetic and the op but the last few months (years?)
Fell pony person is going to muck the horses out each day this weekend which is lovely of her (I agreed only if I paid because I don't want to take advantage of her) and the VNM has been a superstar. Yesterday when I simply looked baffled that there was nothing for dinner he went and got us a takeaway from the local pub. Within 30 mins we had burgers chips and salad and a brownie for pudding. Not quite as good as eating in but really well done, nicely sent out (The brownie came with fresh fruit, a couple of raspberries, strawberry, blackberry and blueberry). VNM also made sure WattyDog is walked each day as WattyDog becomes very quickly bored and boisterous without his walk (ignoring his arthritis).
I am so grateful to both Fell pony person and VNM.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In house news, I got myself dressed enough to show a gardener around yesterday and we discussed the problems outside and the chap was really nice, had some great suggestions and is to send a quote in over the weekend.
Fingers crossed he does that (I've had so many people come round and fail to quote) and that he actually turns up (I've accepted quotes for work and people don't turn up on the day)Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

It sounds as though you have a great support team! I'm sure they are reciprocating for times they've been grateful to have you in their lives.
Interesting, your comment about exhaustion from the last few years. I found this too - a holiday is helpful but isn't enough. A life re-set is tiring in itself, however beneficial. After that, it could take a long time for the body to adapt, but meanwhile other things can come up, like your procedure, which in turn take it out of you. Long term, though, given healthy input, you are working through layers of damage and making it better.
We have nearly finished with some garden work - it took a year to find a company that could and would do it, and they are making a great job of it but did say they might not have taken it on had they known the difficulties! However, getting the right people in has been a game changer and I'm excited to see the end product. Having an enjoyable garden takes work but it's so worth it! It sounds as though you may have found the right person for your garden too.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
