Woke this morning to a lovely message from next door saying she hoped the work being done did not disturb me. She is having a new bathroom done and apparently there were still working after 9.00 pm. The VNM said he heard them when he went out to give the horses their hay at 10.30 but I was asleep by 8 pm.
The comment from AJ Money above made me reflect that, yes, I am glad others do not need so much sleep and it is just fine to be this way for now.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Really lovely day although very behind at work now. Next door gave the VNM 2 bottles of wine to enjoy as a thank you for helping with deliveries which was kind. Today was lovely and sunny so I spent some time outside. I've been having some really disturbing dreams lately and felt very down so popped to the local farmers market and bought curry for dinner, enjoyed a mug of tea and home made cheese scone while there then back to spend some time grooming CC before a vet visit to try and sort out the mites he has picked up from somewhere. I've tried the "cheap" and "natural" and "alternative" options over the last 10 days and they are still there so I've gone nuclear as it must be horrible to have a continual itch.
Really enjoyed just being in the sun with CC and also trip to farmers market.
I should have been a work but can catch up with that at the weekend when hopefully I will feel a bit brighter mood wise.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Take the sunny moments when they are there, they don't arrive to order

I hope the mite issue has a straightforward solution for you and CC. Have a good weekend xSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

My new diary is here3 -
Have ordered shampoo for CC, a dip and we have the vet back for stage 2 of the injection. Throwing everything at the mites and I am confident we can resolve. The other two horses are not really susceptible to this kind of mite.
End of the month review and I am so pleased with progress. Horse goals need revising given that CC will most likely retire but still on treatment protocol for now so those are on hold.
House goals, no real progress other than one light installed. Need to revisit the plan and kick start house renovation.
Relationship is still going well, we have had a couple of fun date nights, one to the pictures and one was just star gazing in the field with an app which was so much fun. We are both committed to the odd date night as we spent so much time just sorting out the external stressors in the past we want to have small fun times this year.
Work/business/financial goals: The effort put into the business is paying off, a lump sum into pension and business is doing better than I expected and as that funds the other goals, I am going to celebrate my success.
Health goals: small progress on the dental front, doing physio helped knee and the acupuncture and massage has almost cleared up shoulder and arm pain.
Financially, the bills can be paid for March, there is sufficient in bill savings to pay for 3 months in a drought period and cover the month ahead (so 4 months covered now). Still working on getting this up to 12 months but since starting diary it is steadily increasing so all good. Pension has benefitted from the lump sum from course, and course sales still continuing although the "early bird" has ended so think that will slow down. There is enough to make another contribution to pension pot so I am over the moon with this. Yes, I work really hard, but my goodness that is how I am going to get back everything I lost with PPH and rebuild ME.
Feb financial and related review: Food £171.65 So pleased with this. Meal planning really paying off and being mindful of what I eat means weight also coming down a little (I would like to lose maybe an inch or so from waist so clothes fit better). Still cooking from scratch and using up stuff. Utility bills at £748.68 which included coal and horses down to £550 in Feb which included a vet bill so much better. (Hay costs are lost in my business so really was a bit higher).
All feels really positive. The negatives are that I've really been struggling with PTSD stuff so I will need to think about a plan to improve mental health over the next few weeks and that my cleaner left last week. I briefly thought about doing it myself but an honest look at the house this morning made me realise that actually I do still need help.

I know some people think a cleaner is an indulgence, but when you're busy it makes a huge difference. Not just to your workload, but to mental health, as it improves your environment. I also find it makes me tidier, and I like to think that I'm also contributing to the local economy and supporting someone who needs a job. My cleaner is fabulous, and I'm just hoping that she doesn't decide to do something different when her kids leave school and she no longer needs a job that fits in around them!10

Speaking as a cleaner... it gives someone a job! And I think you would be a considerate employer (not all are) which in turn would help towards someone's quality of life.
It sounds as though you've got so many things up and running really well. I'm sorry to hear about the PTSD though. Horrible. Are you getting any support with it?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Agree about the cleaner and also consider how much money you can earn in that time from your business compared to how much you would pay a cleaner. You're time is probably more valuable xMortgage start date Nov 2014 - £90,545 over 25 years

Sorry to hear about the PTSD. I have faith that you know how to tackle it. Sending a hug anyway x
Definitely get a new cleaner! 😊
(If … no, no, scratch that …. WHEN our mortgage is paid off, that will be the first thing I do - GET A CLEANER! 😉).
