Fellpony is a double for Thelwell type pony and every bit as naughty. My last one was too - this one really was a mid life crisis!
More good news, Most Handsome blood test results show he does not have anything wrong. So why his feet are still a problem is now a mystery to the vet. I'm waiting to hear when the mobile x-ray machine can get out to him as I'm going to have the feet x-rayed to see if there is an underlying problem. More expense but he is a lovely chap and they all do make me laugh.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

An excellent idea to write a few stories up - Little girls love stories about ponies being naughty. Maybe try and find a local illustrator, if you cannot draw. Another possibility for a sideline.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

'It's aw'flly bad luck on Diana
Her ponies have swallowed their bits
She fished down their throats with a spanner
And frightened them all into fits. '
I don't quite know why @Watty1 , but those immortal lines came to mind this morning... Good luck with MH. Without dissing the boy in any way, might he be putting it on for attention; which he'd get anyway?! Xx5 -
LOL @Humdinger1 No he is very lame. The x-ray machine is booked for tomorrow.
The stories might need to wait a while but that is actually a very nice idea. I'll send out the idea into the universe for an illustrator as I'm sure my boys would provide many stories involving bedsteads, mattresses, milkman, the famous eventer who I once went for a lesson with and the olympic dressage rider who achieved perfect behaviour from a previous horse by simply yelling at me from a chair!

I have now found my own diary once again LOL
Most Handsome has had his x-rays and the vet will follow up with me Monday. The good news is there is nothing that was of great concern so I feel a lot happier now. Sometime next week we will look at scaling back the pain relief apparently. (No more paracetamol parties in the pharmacy for me then)
Just off for a friends birthday walk in local village, hoped on here whilst drinking tea before leaving. Will be back later for proper check in, catch up and motivation to keep going!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Glad the horses keeping you amused .. after my 2022 Ms Doolittle experience with 6 horses, 6 dogs (including Bitey Dog who had to be walked seperately ) 4 cats and some fish - I am aware of the incredible amount of work needed - good they give lots of love and fun back
glad Handsome is on the mendHave we made any bread yet ?DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Bread making was on the plan for today but plans went awry. Lovely dog walk and WattyDog had a blast but in the pub afterwards I noticed he would not sit and as we left the pub he was walking like a crab. I suspect he has pulled a muscle tearing around with a young dog 7 years his junior. After keeping a watchful eye this afternoon for an hour I decided he needed to go to the vet for pain relief.
My goodness they know how to charge! £304 later he has had a pain reliving injection and has some painkillers. The horse vet seems a bargain in comparison.
Irritatingly the vet made a lot of comments about German Shepherds having poor hips and a poor gait until I finally said that I would not have bought my 7 year old dog in on an emergency appointment if he always walked like that and that very clearly something was wrong. She carried on about their hips and arthritis which is of course possible but it is not, imho, that likely that he walked out of the door walking normally and back in crippled an 3 hours later and then fixed her with a very firm stare. She carried on saying not much was wrong until I said but he is choosing not to sit and upon production of a treat she admitted his sit was very reluctant indeed. The more I think about the appointment the crosser I am. If had been one of the horses I would have given pain relief and box rested for 24/48 hours to see how he was then - I told her that too.
I'll give him the pain relief for a couple of days and see how he goes.
Am glad of the "welfare fund" for the animals.
