Watty, there's a poem by Wendy Cope called Being Boring which talks about the joy of contentment - ever since my 20s I've aspired to it! https://writersalmanac.publicradio.org/index.php?date=2003%2F07%2F21.htmlDebt at LBM (Dec 2018): £23,167

Looking at my CC bill I still spend (too much probably) but the article struck a chord.

I will add, there is a phrase I heard recently that I think we all aspire to:
to feel like you are sitting down on the inside’8 -
I think that is very true @WelshmansDaughter Love the two poems. The Wendy Cope reminded me of a previous boyfriend who gave me two small books of poetry for Christmas, I cannot recall one but one was by Wendy Cope. I still have it somewhere.
This struck a chord
"There was drama enough in my turbulent past;
Tears and passion - I've used up a tankful."
The trauma and awfulness of the ex fades, I dip in and out of a book about complex CPTSD but I feel more settled than I did at the start of the year.
I have done very little on my to do list today but i did make a very nice soup using up the remains of the broccoli and half a left over tub of creme-fraiche with some Aldi cheese the VNM bought over. Served with HM naan to use up more of the flour. The bargain left over soup was described as the nicest the VNM had ever had which I thought was hilarious. The freezer is now looking most depleted, i will be more mindful about the restock, aiming for meals from slow cooker and food that can easily become a meal rather than the random selection previously in there.
The funny thing is that a lot of the "use up" meals are now some of my favourites!

its lovely that the trauma is fading (I'm sure the 'lessons learned' remain) and there is certainly less mention of the ex in your posts, this is right and proper and means you are gradually booting the memories out your head making way for things worthy of your current attention. Fabulous progress im sure you'll agree
