oh no, so sorry to hear that.DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thank you everyone. The news about G has made me very thoughtful. That along with watching a neighbour pop in to use my new poles that I had set up in the school. I had invited her and she is a good friend so no angst but it also made me think more about that tomorrow is never promised. Then I listened to the World At One and about the escalation of war and again, tomorrow is never promised.
I am working really hard, I have rebuilt my life. Those three incidents have made me very thoughtful over what the next stages of my life should be like. Yes, I still have to finish the house, work on outside, plan, declutter, but, I think I need to take the time now to think rather than just keep plugging away.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Well you know we'll all support you in whichever small or big diversions of direction you need to take.
I would advise though, to not put those aspects of to-do on a mental 'other time, other me' list.
If they seem onerous then leave them be but if there is joy to be had from doing them or having them done, don't abandon them as while tomorrow isn't guaranteed, something getting right on your nerves for the next decade almost always is!https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase

I think I was just out of sorts by the news about G and seeing a friend use my facilities whilst having no time to do so.
I need to go back to the landscape chap and ask him for more detail on some of his prices as they are somewhat odd - over £1000 to change 3 lights but just £800 to replace a lot of the paths. I will message him.
Also need to see what PA has done re job spec and chase her up.
Given the weather, I also need to chase insurance company. Icy rain here rather than snow, but, winter very def on way and so WattyDog and I need a 4 wheel drive car living where we do.
In WattyDog news he looks gorgeous as went to the dog groomer yesterday. £110 and he has come back looking younger, thinner and so much more beautiful. If only they did people there! He was also given a cute festive bandana for his collar but he has so much long hair it was barely noticeable. His walk yesterday was firmly "on lead" so he could not spoil his looks (or smell)!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

New thermals have arrived. Two will need to be sent back for a refund as are see through and cannot possible be of any use (might be in centrally heated office I suppose but not in a draughty barn or outside) two I have kept although I am not in love with the neck line but I am aware I need some new ones this winter so will keep as will be fine under fleeces and sweatshirts and one is simply so much fun I bought a duplicate (uniqlo flowers!) I now have enough thermal tops and will wait until the sales for leggings to go under riding clothes or dresses.
This prompted a quick removal of T-shirts and vest tops from main wardrobe and replaced with an organised selection of winter clothes. I thought I had once decluttered my wardrobe to a simple clear state but there seems to be a lot of "stuff" that has appeared. I have had a quick cull and am undecided whether to list for sale or just donate. Currently leaning towards sunk costs and remove from house but that might be mood related.
