Watty's Awakening

I too wondered if it could be a battery problem. Of course if it keeps going off it could be reaching its end of life. That is what my carbon monoxide monitor did a few weeks ago. Instead of the usual error message it actually said END.

That reminds me, I need to get a new CO monitor. Our's died, despatched on its way with the assistance of a lump hammer whent the non-replaceable battery started beeping.

Great feedback. Thank you for commenting. I rang round and have found a company I'm to send photos and the make to and then they will see if they can restore or advise further.
Last night I left book club early and had a wonderful sleep finally waking up at just before 9.00 which will make the day a bit of a rush but I feel so much better for the sleep.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Just another thing to add with the alarm decision, are you house insurance provider aware of it? Some give a discount if you have one but also be aware that they may not pay out if you are burgled and hadn’t set it before leaving.:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j3

We deliberately haven't told the insurance about the alarm so we can't fall foul of that situation.

The alarm is behaving and it has just gone on my list of "things to resolve" and I will get to it this month. I will see if I can get it reconnected and working properly.
WattyDog terrifies nearly everyone who comes near the place, he is in my opinion a delightfully friendly dog but he barks with full hackles up at anyone who dares to venture on to what he considers "his land" and even those who know him back off at this sight so I've told him to continue with full alarm guarding mode and he is currently yelling at walkers on a footpath. It is not our land but he has an odd sense of territory which includes next doors driveway, the nature reserve opposite, one field that neighbours mine (he does not care about the other neighbouring fields) and the house down the lane .

Sometimes I feel it is one step forwards and two back. Most Handsome is lame. The farrier was out yesterday and said it was not in the foot. I've just been to put hay in the field and he is still very lame. Have given him a painkiller and will review in a few hours.

With horses that is always the case ! I think my DS always has one horse lame or having issues .. Hope he feels better soon
it’s a lifelong love and full time work being a horse ownerDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Have a vet coming out this afternoon. Most Handsome has got worse this morning.
Whilst waiting I have reviewed my Amaz0n account and printed off an invoice for anything and everything that could be a business expense. I have then gone through my credit card and looked for same.
This has resulted in £500 being moved to the account to pay off the credit card. This along with the "found/forgotten" money in the bank account will go a long way to paying off the debt.
I am using the CC as a float but I have opened a separate account to move money into when I do use it so hopefully if I can clear it by the end of this month.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

The vet has been and Most Handsome has laminitis. For the non horsey readers this is like an inflammation in the foot. He is to be rested and have pain killers and we will review him in a week.
Rest and Most Handsome are not natural bedfellows so this promises to be an interesting week.
I've also to give him 10 paracetamol in each feed and as these are so much cheaper if I buy the over the counter I set off on a tour of the village. The pharmacy provided 3 x boxes of 32 and the local shop 2 x boxes of 16 with a lovely lady in the queue behind buying me another 2 boxes and then the local garage providing another 2 boxes of 16. I would have asked the man behind me in the queue to buy me another 2 boxes but they were £1.60 there which was so much more expensive than anywhere else I decided not to do that.
This haul gives me enough for a week and I should be able to get to one of the cheap supermarkets where they are less than 20p a box and hopefully persuade some girlfriends to buy me some boxes too thereby getting enough for a further week cheaply. Have to say it makes a mockery of the restrictions where I just drove around the village to buy more than the maximum dose the pharmacy would sell. I did think if I took in the vet prescription note the pharmacy would let me have more, but, no.
My plan to spend the day catching up at work was de-railed and I suspect the vet bill will de-rail any savings this month! Such is life in World of Watty!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
