I think you’re right about taking a chunk of time for the horses during the day - surely working for yourself, one of the perks is meant to be flexi working? 😊

I also chatted with my lovely neighbour who I ride with most Sundays. I really want that day for using my forest pass, but, I didn't want to not ride with her, so this week I asked if we could ride on Saturdays instead? And could she work on getting to the point where she could come to the forest too on Sunday and she agreed with both so that is a plan.
I'm looking at how to create the life I really want to live. This week I'm going to try to find some people to outsource some work too because the idea of doing it myself seems too stressful and a friend pointed out that Steve Jobs didn't do everything at Apple so there was no reason I should. That made me laugh. I'm struggling to make ends meet, hardly Steve Jobs, but her point was well made. To make more money I should try doing xxx but if I don't have the skill set find someone who has, I have the idea, so lets get someone to see if the idea will work. If not the business loses a bit until I have a new idea but I will have tried. She added that Steve Jobs probably had lots of naff ideas so I shouldn't worry. A joyous chat and a helpful one too that has led to me finding a couple of people that might help.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Watty do you do any business networking? I used to be a member of a breakfast networking group that met weekly or fortnightly and that was always a useful place to find somebody there who could help, or would know of somebody who could. Also a good source of business referrals too. Might be worth looking for something in your area? Most groups allow visitors for you to try out whether the group is a good fit for you. Try and find an independent group as some of the franchised ones are very pushy on you always having a referral for somebody, which makes it pressurised, and leads to some crap referrals being passed round. They aren't always breakfast groups either. The women only ones tend to be rather 'lifestyle' businesses, so best avoided too IMO.A group of us still chat on Zoom once a fortnight even though several of us have retired, so it's also a good way of making new friends.Make £2025 in 2025

@Slinky What a great idea. I belong to a couple of profession specific ones on Facebook which is where my referrals came from but a local group might be a good plan. If you want to suggest any to look out for (or avoid), either on here or by PM please do. I'll look locally too.

Lovely Indian meal out last night (27.50 each, no alcohol keeps the cost down and neither of us drank) with a girlfriend I have not seen in ages. I haven't laughed so much in ages. Really laughter too, at both of our lives and sympathy were needed. I've known her so long and the evening was such a joy. We agreed at the end we needed to get together more often.
It was a much later night than I am used to and 2 hours after crawling into bed the burglar alarm went off. Now, it was not switched on so why it started I'm not sure. I came down, switched it off went back to be and a couple of hours it went off again and that pattern has been repeated all night so I'm shattered.
I need to decide what to do about the alarm as is did this a few weeks ago. I don't really understand how it works and I don't switch it on when I leave the house. I've looked to see how it is connected and I've no idea. The ex installed it and he was technically qualified to do so because of where he worked but not registered. I really don't want to phone him so I'm going to get someone out but I need to decide what I want to do with the alarm. Do I want an alarm on the house? Or shall I just disconnect it? I'm being very indecisive on this. Perhaps I'll just call an engineer and get there view.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In other news I have enough to pay my tax bill. The final figures are in from my accountant and I have enough to cover it. Absolute relief as I had wondered if I would have to arrange a bank overdraft to pay that.
As a result I've opened another savings account linked to my bank account and am moving money into that for the credit card. I am using the CC as a float at the moment which I know is not ideal but I think, if the expenses money comes in from the voluntary work, I transfer vinted sales and cashback and pay in a couple of cheques and with the money "found" in the bank account I had forgotten I just might be able to clear the outstanding amount and then work on clearing the float money next month.
All a bit of a wild juggle right now, but simply knowing I can clear my tax bill is a relief and is the first start to building a solid financial future.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

if the ex installed it, get an engineer in to check it thoroughly and then you can decide if you want to keep it installed

Call me cynical, but is it wireless? Does he still have access to it somehow?Get it up and running properly, and use it. I was burgled twice in a month by the same people. It was a horrible experience particularly as I lived on my own. They were obviously watching me, and as a single occupant it's easy to see when you've gone out and so there's nobody in. They came back a third time but saw the bell boxes had been put up and went away again.ETA I wonder if it's anything to do with the backup battery? It isn't any coincidence that smoke alarm batteries die at nighttime and start beeping. It's something to do with the drop in temperature setting them off. I wonder whether it's the same with batteries in burglar alarms. We have ours serviced so dying batteries get swapped out.Make £2025 in 2025

Re the alarm, must be the time for it as ours started misbehaving on Sunday, in daytime hours though thankfully. We've ended up pulling the fuse out of ours, we don't use it (yes, I know perhaps we should) so we've got to decide to either leave it permanently powered down or get someone out to look at it (I'm sure if they do they'll say it all needs replaced as it's that old).3
