Watty's Awakening

That’s really poor Watty. In a previous location I used to call in advance and see whether they were running on time. Now if I’ve waited more than 15 mins I tell them I have to leave as I need to get back to work - having said that, my current surgery are very efficient on time. I suggest you cancel the appointment, and provide feedback saying that the process, and the stress of the unknown waiting time, are impacting negatively on your mental health 😇. I’d also include a complaint about being prescribed (and having to pay for) medication that you specifically said you didn’t want.
If it isn’t doing anything for you, focus your energy on the things that do help - like MH, CC, WattyDog, and VNM.

I'd suggest just cancelling the appointment if you feel you don't need it. Are there meds that you do require that they would stop the prescription for if you weren't to go?
I was able to get some HRT meds I don't want to take anymore removed from my prescription list by messaging through the NHS app.
ETA I waited a couple of hours at a new dentists once. The person before me was having a 'difficult extraction'. In the end they called in another dentist from home to see me. Quite frankly, I was somewhat glad that (A) I wasn't the patient in the chair and (B) I got to see a different dentist! (A few years later found that the original one got struck off, but I believe was for financial reasons.)

My old doctor you knew if you had an appt you took your book. But if she was an hour late seeing you she would be an hour & at least 5 mins late seeing the next person. Now you have an appt & 30 seconds in they are trying to get you back out. My last consultant asked if she had felt my stomach, no & did she - no. This one doesn't even look at you most of the time which is a problem when your hearing is bad.

Watty - I've started communicating directly with my doctor via the messaging function at our surgery - yes the office staff can see the messages but as the messages are written to the doctor, they don't get involved in replying. I've addressed both medical items and administrative procedural concerns in writing, and find it is a better way to communicate, and there is a permanant record of the response. Means I can message the doctor at my convenience as well, instead of having to navigate the practices VM hell & their passive agressive reminder to be polite to their staff. I think that once the surgery realizes that you are an active rather than passive participant in your own healthcare, they step up their level of service to match your needs & expectations.
4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)Original End Date - Sept 2041 New projection - Dec 2039 (reduced by 21 months)6 -
Thanks lovely cheerleading team. I've decided next time I will ask HER what I am doing there and WHY she wanted to see me. And if she is running late I will leave, first telling reception why.
Surgery has a very archaic system of communication and has only just introduced online triage - which - when I needed it worked really well. Small steps.
On the positive side, counselling session was excellent and I think is really helping me understand how I got into various scrapes in the past and that hopefully will help the future.
And the sun shone - everything feels so much better when the sun shines.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Just going back a few pages to suggest planting raspberries. I have Autumn Bliss and they need no support, just cutting down each year, are late fruiters and will happily spread. And if you don't cut them down for any reason, they both grow on the old growth AND send up new. Win, win !

Now raspberries are a great idea, thank you.

It's ok to decide that appointments with this person don't work for you and just leave it there. It can be tempting to get into the mindset of I will triumph over this idiot but honestly it's never worth it. It's your wasted time, your wasted effort.
I found it empowering to understand how and why something didn't work for me. And in remembering to be grateful that I had choices.

Pension contribution not showing on line but the paperwork for it has arrived so it is clearly on the way to showing. Thanking my past self for doing the course.
Taught course today. Bit of a hard time as I allowed someone to unmute themselves and she just argued with me. I thought it was amusing as I refused to tell what to do in a given situation - the point of the course is to learn not do what others do but ?? She clearly wasn't happy so if she reaches out I will do a refund.
Then made an appointment to see an office space. It is not far from the house and within budget. I know giving up work for a less stressful life is on the cards but I am exploring options that include taking someone else on to free up my time, and, if I do that I would rather have an office space. My feeling - and this might just be something I need to get my head round - is that I'm not really comfortable having someone work from my office (which is not really part of the house) when I am just playing, reading, resting, out with the horses. Having a dedicated space is something I am thinking about and I saw this one on right move and it might work. Appointment made for tomorrow.
Also beginning to worry about Friday's hospital appointment I must admit. Keeping that worry to myself but don't mind putting it on here. Worrying about it won't change anything but it is now on my mind.
