I might be talking nonsense as I do not work in your world, but I would be waiting one week for a response to the email and then asking them to invoice for the work that was actually done to the brief they were hired for. Any of us can copy something standard off the internet or input gobbledygook into Chatgit
I am hugely smiling at WattyDog being reunited with the ball 😊

I'd be telling the solicitor that the Ts & Cs aren't what you requested, don't appear to be applicable to your business and therefore you are not paying for them - maybe copy the managing partner. Is there not a small business association or similar than can provide standard Ts & Cs that you can use?

Some good ideas. I'm resigned to paying her bill but I have written and sent the email. Then spent sometime editing what she sent. She did include two clauses I specifically requested - to cover the business in the event of me closing it down or selling it.
I think the whole PPH experience has given me a very jaded view of solicitors and that they are just out to get their bill as high as possible for minimum effort and they march to their own drumbeat (sorry if there are any solicitors reading this but that has just been my lived experience).

CC dislikes most if not all farm animals. The second ever ride I took him on he saw "geese" and objected firmly. I was new to his likes and dislikes so I was resolved we were going to pass them and after a number of spins and reversing he finally did so and to be fair he has passed them ever since with just a stare and - i believe - a scowl.
Someone locally has miniature goats and he requires the whole road for 500 metres to consider going past those - I have to ask traffic to wait behind whilst his ample statue spins and side steps.
He crosses the road (unasked) to avoid sheep if I am not paying attention and is most cautious of cows only going past if I am most positive and permit the crossing to the other side of the road.
Pigs are another level of dislike. He will pass some but "that one" he has no time for.
If he were younger i would take him away for a few days to a farm and spend some time getting him used to these things but as it is, and given where we live, it is all doable. I trust him to pass any amount of road dramas and traffic and go through roadworks sensibly and where we live that is priceless

Could you stick the legal documents into AI and ask it produce a summary document that would do the job?

Only do this if you know how to write prompts correctly.

My old little dog was scared of the chickens we used to have. He actually cried one day when one hen pecked him and he came running to tell me 🤣 he was a little wuss. I had to tell Hetty off whilst trying not to laugh. He was also regularly bullied by birds in the garden and neighbours cats. He was so soft and friendly though that it made up for his wussiness. 🤣

Oh how cute @debtfreewannabe321
I'm not confident enough with chatgpt to use it, but having spent some time (during the rain) I have reviewed them and the documents are good just perhaps over zealous. I'm going to use one and keep two as "available on request" and one is simply not required.
However it is one thing ticked off. I also spent a bit of time thinking about the business and life generally. Prompted by a two hour potter around the lanes with Charming Cob. We went somewhere we haven't been for a while and I was surprised to see "No Horses" signs on the edges of some fields. Disappointing as I would think most riders would have the good sense to stay off in this weather anyway and yes, one is clearly a footpath but it goes diagonally across a field and cuts off a nasty road corner so would be perfectly useable. Once again I realised I'm tired of the whole busyness of the area, the extra houses, the amount of traffic and the antagonistic landowners. (BTW the fields are theirs, I'm not disputing their right to say who can use them but simply 15 years ago no one minded, there might be the odd sign saying "just planted xx keep off" but that would be taken down again but no one really minded if horses used the footpaths to avoid a bit of road, a lot of the farmers would allow it but I think the legal situation now means if riders can "prove" they have been using them then the farmers are stuck with a right of access).
Anyway ramble done. The legal paperwork prompted a think and what really makes me happy is time with my horses and dog. I need to think about how to get more of that.

it’s hard making all these decisions, but it’s worth considering a move while you’re still young enough to make new friends in a new place! And you don’t necessarily need to sell the business first if it isn’t location-dependent.
well done on the paperwork. My challenge today is to get the building notice submitted…8 -
Solicitor offered a call to see if she could get documents usable. I declined saying I had no interest in running up a bill further. This might not have been the right decision but for me it draws a line under it. I am clearly very jaded with solicitors as all I could think of was this had become a money making exercise. I put that one clearly on PPH and the solicitors I consulted during that period.
Then went to see the Mental Health Practitioner at the surgery and somewhat lost the plot with her empathy because it seems so insincere. If she read my records she would know the answer to the question like why are you here??? I explained for the umpteenth time why I do not want the sleeping pills and that the last drugs given to me had been thrown on the fire. She asked why I thought I was there and I said I was there so the surgery could complete its tick box on safety and being sure I would not self harm. I might have been less cross if i had not waited to long, or, if someone had told me she was running late. I fully understand that doctors and vets run late and I am glad that they do because it means they are giving quality care to someone but my vets can always tell me that there is a delay so why can the doctors not? I sat in the waiting room for over an hour - and yes - I did politely say to reception I was there and was there an issue to be fobbed off with "another ten minutes". If they had said when I arrived it would be 90 minutes I would have gone and got a coffee in the village.
Anyway that appointment is done, meds amended and another appointment made for mid March by surgery despite me asking if there was any point. Apparently the point is to see how I am doing. Whilst there, being irritated by them, I did begin to wonder if I could talk myself out of this to avoid having to go back.
