Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming 'Wow! What a Ride!

Thanks slinky, believe me I've thought about it 😆 🤣 but there's metal work underneath so I'm concerned in case any infection from a tattoo could potentially transfer into the bone. So I just glare at them from time to time 😆

Love it @daisy_1571
You also reminded me I should not grumble as after an accident I was sewn up by a surgeon and his stitching was incredible. The scar cannot be seen at all unless one looks really hard - the nurse said to him as she handed me the mirror that it was some of his best work! I on the other hand was horrified when I saw my face, but, he reassured me if I treated the stitches as he wanted me too they would just slide out and there would be no marks.
I would look like a pirate otherwise I think
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Feeling brighter today. Couple of hours on sofa binge watching, rode CC and then a long phone call to a good friend last night. Nice day. Today I have very little planned but will be reviewing Feb finances.

First official day of Spring and it rained again (no surprise). Bit of a lazy day. Have mucked out in pjs and remained in pjs. Have however done end of the month work - sent statements to people who owe money, paid bills that need paying for work and reviewed the coming course session.
Reviewed pension pot and the last amount paid in is showing. Moment of joy checking I have a pension that is now very respectable. The hard work has paid off.
Reviewed finances. For those interested in the detail the horses cost more to feed than VNM and I did in February. Our food bill (and household stuff) £374. This could come down without the support of meal boxes but they do make us eat properly a few nights a week. (Horses food and bedding £595 but we are ploughing through hay here as I do not have enough grazing and the rain means they are stabled more than ideal so more bedding and more hay). House bills an eyewatering £995 but I did buy the coal this month (£355) and more gas (£160) I count my car and horse box costs in house bills. Vets high as ever was thus. Horses had annual injections and wormers, Fell Pony herbal and homeopathic stuff reordered. I don't have an exact for vets (just as well) as VNM has been subbing that one whenever WattyDog needs anything.
Own health £389 counselling and meds and supplements. I keep it big picture when i do this as if get detailed I get overwhelmed by it! Cat food £150.36 but that will last her a while and there was a 30% off and WattyDog has a stash of food under the stairs. Finally cleaner £208, new cleaner is lovely, willing to do whatever asked so the suggestion of employing direct rather than via an agency a nice one. While I was at the hospital Friday she changed the bedding, amused WattyDog and let herself out and send me a message to say where each animal was before she left and to reassure me that the front door was definitely shut as it sticks.
I do pay someone to muck our the horses during the week as work is busy but the business pays her as tbh I could do it but work is busy and if I am doing that I can't keep on top of work.
Finally self: £96.90 for a bottle of perfume, a birthday gift, a card and two trips out with girlfriends, the birthday celebration and the village cinema.
Now going to put washing away and clean tack. The house smelt of wet washing this morning as everything drying indoors but a few hours with the wood burner on and all good. VNM has been looking at the sprayer and quad bike - he has managed to fix the sprayer with "things" he already had in the barn so that is fabulous and is now looking at the quad which needed a new battery (£51.65 including delivery).

Sounds a great start to spring. What a find with the cleaner!

So pleased to hear about the cleaner! That will make such a difference to your quality of life and I love the empathetic detail she went into about where each animal was - sounds like she ‘gets it’ 👏❤️
Forgive me but it amuses me that your self care costs are soooo much less than that of the equine crew 😉 Kinda puts it into perspective how little you are actually spending on you really 😊 Excellent idea about paying some to much out in the week when you can be earning at a much higher rate - makes perfect sense to me 😊
And the MSE award for ‘furtling in sheds to find bits and thingameebobs’ goes to Mr VNM for his dedicated and creative work on the sprayer 🥇
