WattyDog thanks you.  He had a lovely day yesterday, pottering around while I rode CC then after lunch my sister, her husband and her dog visited so we walked across the fields to the local pub where dogs lazed, sister and I had a pot of tea and VNM and her husband had a pint.  

I had so many plans for the bank holiday and here we are Monday and very little of plans actually done but a cheap and sociable time being had and that is important too. 

The only house thing achieved has been to tidy and declutter some bedroom drawers. I now have a couple of bits to donate, and a bin full of stuff to go out.   The drawer dividers are a game changer!  i actually opened a bedside drawer yesterday just to smile at it   (Pyjamas and bed socks all sorted and nicely stored)

Right I need to get on.   My bank holiday plans to tackle the garden have fallen by the wayside.  I also have a lot of work that has come in so I will spend some time at my desk today.    Wednesday is operation and I do not want to go off for that knowing I am really behind at work.   So, I think that has to take a priority today.

Eggs for lunch, and a slow cooker meal for dinner and all good.   I'll prep the dinner first as I think I may need to pop out for a couple of things as the VNM tends to eat the honey and I noticed that was needed. I could substitute maple syrup but that has been eaten too

Mmnn, local honey (not that I am biased, of course 🐝🍯🐝🐝 ). Here I have far too much honey to take to the County Show, which is on Wednesday and Thursday - but as I am entered, I can sell some (the association takes 20% commission). I just need to finalise my entries today, so that tomorrow is just the three items I need to cook (I am bonkers), plus ferrying Mr Sl to and from hospital as it is his operation tomorrow! Good luck with yours, you will be fine. Good to get that diagnosis of WattyDog and have a plan for easing his pain - it's such a worry!

Oooooh @Suffolk-lass, we're going to the show, probably Wednesday on the basis that if it rains it'll be a quagmire by Thursday. I may just have to take a look in the honey tent!

A fan of local honey, usually try to pick up from the church as someone keeps bees in the graveyard and sells the honey for church funds.  I would prefer to be vegan but I do not well on a vegan diet, so, this year my compromise is to try to get the animal produce I buy comes from well kept, local producers (honey and eggs) and if it is meat that it is farmed and slaughtered locally too.

Yesterday I did not as I found some yellow sticker higher welfare chicken which made a slow cooker Chinese style dish with yellow sticker peppers and a cabbage that was slowly giving up hope in the bottom of the fridge.  Dinner was delicious (sauce was soy sauce, a bit of honey, tomato ketchup, onions, garlic, ginger and a bit of red chilli)

Bank holiday in terms of "getting house things done" a non event. My aim to spend a few hours in the office ended up being a full day, with the VNM roped in to help as well.  However this means a gentler day today I hope.

Remember the UK Power Networks palaver.  Well, I duly signed the paperwork on the basis that really if I did not they just got to keep the money - and - they sent me a cheque!!  The palaver started because I could not cash a cheque.   I sent a somewhat terse email today and apparently they will cancel the cheque and I should "in due course" receive £238.90 into my bank. 

I will not hold my breath.

In other news, having failed to get to the garden over the weekend I contacted the landscaper chap and said understood he was busy but could we get a date in the diary and he apparently didn't realise I wanted the job done (?)   Rang the builder re the knocked down wall and asked for a firm quote and a date in the diary.  Registered the dressage team.  Hacked Charming Cob.  Booked WattyDog in for physio assessment prior to hydrotherapy.  They sounded a lovely set up, physios and hydro and treadmills all in one place and came highly recommended and suggested a course might be his insurance. Will contact insurance company later in week. 

My lovely PA is putting her prices up and I wrote and congratulated her, yes it will cost me more, but I'm happy she is valuing herself and I would never have got the course up and running without her, and, so she helped me add a lovely lump sum to pension so I'm happy that she gets rewarded to.

Cleaner didn't turn up, so changed the bedding, did a load of washing and have packed ready for hospital tomorrow.  Didn't sleep well worrying last night so planning a catch up with Clarkson on his farm tonight if I can't sleep.  Phew (oh yes I did some work too)
