I would be trying hard to clear some of my own junk but instead today was spent 'saving the planet!' This morning 3 bin bags of assorted items to be washed & divvied up between doggy duvet covers, doggy duvet innards, strained blanket for dog coats*, items given away, & clothes for charity shop.......wacked. My own junk has not diminished one jot
I have already spent £11 on 100 x 8" zips from Amazon. A friend has Prime so no postage charges. I intend to make more pyramids to sell (and give) & last year bought some fabrics that would appeal to children: dinosaurs, bees, mermaids.
* rescue dogs in Romania won't care, as long as they have a warm coat!
419 is an amazing amount in one year. A massive well done to you

I started reading the 2023 thread a couple of months ago but it seemed a bit late to join in. I have yarn.....so much yarn. Not all of it bought, I had a bin bag full donated by by nephew's girlfriend who was working as something to do with dyeing yarn. I have the reject skeins that didn't turn out as anticipated. When I added those to my already interesting stash I realised that I probably shouldn't buy anything for a very long time.
My "to finish" list for now
I'm about a quarter of the way through a knitted cardigan for me
I'm about a third of the way through a crochet throw/blanket (also for me, everyone else has one)
I'm about halfway through a crochet frog for my son (he's 19, he just loves frogs)
I don't have a target number of things to make but I am a member of "random acts of crochet kindness" on farcebook so there will be seasonally appropriate bits for that now and then. I'd also like to learn to knit socks but I'm not sure of long enough peace and quiet time at a stretch for that. If anyone wants to learn crochet amigurumi there is a YT site called Toristory creations who has made some lovely slow and easy videos. She hasn't posted anything new for a long time which is a shame but I did make the duck in a frog hat and it was so simple to do.
I'll give myself a budget of £5 a month although it shouldn't really be anything given what is in this room (our spare bedroom has become my craft room because of the sheer amount of stuff that I have) but £5 a month should pay for buttons or any other extras that I may need.
£0/£60.00
It's great to have you on board and thank you for the heads up regarding the crochet videos. Its a skill I am determined to crack this year

I have come to the conclusion that currently my hobby is collecting craft supplies but hope to change all that this year and actually make lots of things instead.
Good luck with the purging of the craft supplies. It is on my list to do again this year too.Mortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.028 -
Morning all.
I managed to make another 3 cards last night so I'm up to 6/2024
Not even making a little dent in my stash but at least I have found time to make something and it helped me relax for a couple of hours
Hoping to get a few more cards made today.

Hi, I'd like to rejoin this year too please. I promise I will try and remember to actually post photos this year! I'm not going to set a target but I know I put a dent in my stash last year. Ended up with a load of card making stuff which will help me as I need to think about earning extra cash as I am expecting redundancy at some point this year, so would be interested in how useful you find Etsy @craftingmad2023 Frugal Living Challenge

Hello, will join again please. No goals of how much I will do but just use up stash a bit and try new things. At the moment I am doing a crystal art (diamond art) picture which is helping me as all my routines disappeared during Christmas. I will post picture later. Wishing all a peaceful 2024 with friends to help when life gets bumpy11

The crystal art I am doing - the blanket behind is the corner to corner crochet blanket I did this year. Edit to say the finished picture will hang above my bookcase containing all my Terry Pratchet discworld books and items.

I have just seen that I have a fleece throw that is 'strained'... like storage in this house. I vowed never to make dog coats again but I know someone who sends supplies out to Romania. the only cost is the tape ties & I got that cheapish online, so I will continue until this has been used.
Looks like I forgot the knee blanket (or 2?) on my list- the shoeboxes were delivered in September so I can't check!! I will add one.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
