This morning's update, FWIW. DH still feels unwell but AI says this is common after the procedure, and experience says these episodes are transient. The people at the clinic say the woman who deals with these things isn't there today. He's dropped off the rest of the antibac sprays for me and I've updated the team so that's sorted for now. I've also looked ahead to the session I lead on the day after we get back, and it's straightforward, in fact, it's one I did before. The farmer sows seeds… guess what we will be doing?
The tuna bag seems to have been de-tuna'd. I will need to saddle soap it at some point as all that cleaning was a bit harsh. I'm glad it lives to fight another day.
Right, next job is to wash my hair, then attend to packing. I'm working this evening, just two hours, and DH is picking me up from work to drive to the hotel. So I need to get things in order right now.
I had a look on the app and boarding passes are showing and all seems in order, which provides some sort of reassurance. I've also watered the plants, so nothing is likely to dry out utterly in a week. No need to worry about the children as they are all old enough to look after themselves and regularly undertake stuff like this without half the fuss I make. Good news is that DD and DGD3 are now on the mend after what seems to have been Covid. DD has lost taste and smell, though.

Have a lovely holiday. I hope you are able to relax once you arrive at the hotel. I would love the change of scenery next week - definitely preferable to driving to work each wet, grey morning.

Thank you @in_need_of_direction and @Dakota_Rose!
Nearly ready now. Last minute hitch discovering that the cases I'd got down have got musty in the loft, so they've been wiped down with vinegar, given as much fresh air as possible and sprayed with air freshener - not too much because that would be worse! Most of the smell has gone, might dust the hand luggage with bicarb and hoover it!
I expect fresh air will help at the other end but I'm wrapping my clothes in carrier bags inside the case to minimise contact.
Must remember passport. 😊

Thank you everyone!
Work was okay - I had to fly through tasks to fit everything into half an hour less, but it was agreed with management and so many staff seem to be off, with it being half term, that offices aren't getting used as much. DH has been recovering over the day and I let him finish closing up the house while I was out - I sent a reminder text of things that needed to be done but neither of us remembered to take the bin out so I hope we don't have a problem with it when we get home.
The hotel (major chain) turns out to do overnight parking only, though the website gives a price for leaving the car for a week. We are therefore getting going a little bit earlier to use a car park at the airport though not the official one, which is horrendously expensive. This one comes recommended by DS1 and the hotel.
The hotel is limiting parking as part of the building is being demolished (!), which also means we couldn't book a sit-down breakfast but the nice side of that is they do complementary coffee and pastries from 5am (not that I will be eating then). So spending extra on the car parking is near-enough cancelled out by not buying brekkies. I also got a free supper as L1dl is doing their free bakery item spin and I got a muffin. I have no idea whether that's a real pastry lottery or they just allocate a baked item every day.
I've also worked out a few things I feel I have to do before leaving for a holiday. I'll make a note in the hope of future insight: laundry near-enough up to date (I left some ironing and a few recent items in the basket), bathroom clean, kitchen presentable, wild birds fed, plants watered, random jobs completed even if I've been putting them off for months! I think this last is a displacement activity, the rest is to do with 'if I die and don't come back, what will people think?' My mum used to like to leave the house in a state that was nice to come back to, which impressed itself on me, but someone else in the family did literally leave for a few hours but never made it home again - so there's that. Memories of childhood criticisms from other children go deep.
So anyway, we got out! Accidentally brought the remains of a carton of milk with us, which was supposed to have been dropped off with A and H but instead has been turned into hot chocolate for me. Nothing spent today, but I've promised myself a few items off V1nted as a reward for getting here!
