Ug. It's bad enough when water leaks. Hopefully your actions to de tuna will work

Thanks @peb - I need to face that asap, but am putting it off!

So far today, after a better night's sleep, I've given myself some skin care (face felt in need), listed the food stuffs that need to be finished or frozen before we go away and other than that, I've been playing on the computer. Must Get Going.

(Which reminds me, I'm on the last of the five volumes of The Diary of a Provincial Lady by E M Delafield. It's the funniest thing I've read in a long time, more than making up for a lack of fast-paced action).

I want to get my case basically packed today, and I'm working this evening. Jobs to do:

    • Lunch - tuna salad, using up salad leaves, some tomato, That Tuna (grr), some red pepper, goodness knows what else but undoubtedly more of the biscuits I made the other day.
    • Tea - pancakes - can't do them at lunch as I try to avoid calcium-rich food in the first few hours after main medication, but can't leave them too late as DH will smell them when he gets in! He's on a fast day ready for a small medical procedure tomorrow.
    • Laundry
    • de-tuna my bag
    • buy new diary - existing one succumbed to tuna
    • clean bathroom
    • do ironing
    • hoover

Other than those, things will crop up so I may be back to edit

If the wind does not remove the tuna smell try just leaving it somewhere 'airy' I use my hay barn but a shed or garage would work. Eventually I have found multiple smells just vanish using this method (including cat pee)

Amazing that the coffee still was fine! Great job!

Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Sympathy on the eau de tuna. I can still (metaphorically) smell the fish that was in the van a few weeks ago

Thanks one and all! The bag is still really wet so I can't tell whether the clean up was successful or not. Tomorrow it can go out on the line again.

Loads of laundry got done, and was mostly line dried. Some of the ironing is done, too, but I'll have to return to it. Of the admin-type stuff, I paid off the credit card (annoyingly, I've been charged 63p, which I think came from an item being in pending then I didn't get back to it the next day), emailed about the potential work, booked for the green bins to be collected (£52) and tried to sort out the DBS but it looks as though it was one I'm not currently using so I've to speak to the manager for the Wednesday job about that.

Other housework didn't get done, but some progress has been made sorting out food. Three hours at work this evening.

Oh my, I don't envy you the tuna adventure! When they came out with the no drain small tins, I started using them at work to reduce the smell in our shared kitchenette. They are not the least bit economical, but still cheaper and healthier than a store-bought sandwich! I usually have it with crackers and a small salad bag.

Hope MrCF is doing OK after his medical procedure, fasting is no fun!
