@Cherryfudge - I feel for you with the wedding outfit search! I'm currently searching for an occasion outfit! Three dresses later at I've finally found the dress, wearing shoes I already own, but still need to find a clutch. I have plenty of summer outfits that fit and some that don't but nothing for autumn!
4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 7 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 17 mths)3 -
I understand the vinted temptation. The only thing that stops me buying is lots of stuff I already own and the realisation I really need to sort out what my life is going to be like to know what I need/want.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
Clark’s are a good brand. I wore Clark’s shoes to my sisters wedding. They were brown Mary Jane’s to match our brown bridesmaids dresses. It was an autumn wedding.Credit card 1800

It's as if weddings only happen in summer, isn't it! It's so hard to find something that's a bit warmer but not too much if the venue turns out to be well heated!rtandon27 said:@Cherryfudge - I feel for you with the wedding outfit search! I have just packed away a dozen summer dresses... do I need more? Certainly not: I don't wear dresses all that often... but they're pretty. So I find them hard to resist. I've also packed away a few pairs of summer trousers, regretfully as they are so comfortable, and I find myself looking at similar styles in various colours and being tempted. So I, too, own more than I need. I've set aside a couple of dresses that I realistically won't wear and am thinking of selling or donating. (Quite good makes so selling might be worth it).Watty1 said:I understand the vinted temptation. I do like Mary Janes, and I've noticed some nice shoes in Clarks but because it's years since I bought Clarks, I don't know how they would fit - I've short, wide feet and can't take any pressure across the widest part due to arthritis. I like some of Hotter's casual shoes but not their court styles. Wide Skechers are great but not for a wedding.itsthelittlethings said:Clark’s are a good brand. I need low heels so a lot of 'suitable' shoes are ruled out because my feet no longer bend to the right shape. I had good advice from podiatry which I bear in mind, but finding the shoes that tick all the necessary boxes is tricky.
In other news, the bag of wadding for future puppets arrived yesterday and it looks as though the (possible wedding) jacket has got to the drop off point. So there's yet more stuff coming in.
Today's list:
Pay the window cleaner
Collect jacket
Leave feedback for items received
Put mixed wash onto the line
Put hot wash into the machine
Pot up one of the houseplants
Finish church hoovering

Thanks - knowing who does wider fittings is really helpful. There isn't a Next in town but there's one at the retail park so if nothing shows up today on Vinted, I might go tomorrow.in_need_of_direction said:Next do various fittings and you may even be close enough to a shop to try on

Problem solved - I hope. I came across some M&S shoes I'd saved on Vinted and realised they fit the bill nicely though they aren't marked as wide. I've gone up half a size which always helps as long as I don't trip over my toes! Also the style is such that they shouldn't cause pressure.
I've also ordered some light pink Skechers in a sandal-type style that will be suitable for the dancing after the wedding but can be worn with the same dress. £29.28 spent in total - though those Moshulu looked like perfect classics and I will be aware of the brand in future.
Still to sort out - tights and a bag. (Sigh).I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
