Off to Canada tomorrow so will be able to look at the "SallyAnn" shops and the various recycling centres.
Always amazes me how "dressed" the shops are in the UK compared to there. I only knew 1 place that looked like a proper clothing store compared to a warehouse where there racks and racks of improperly cleaned used clothing and tatty furniture being sold to people some of whom had no alternative place to shop. Not to say there aren't sometimes some amazing finds but it's difficult sometimes.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Enjoy your trip @Brie! I miss the old-fashioned tumble of jumble type shops, because they were like a treasure hunt, but I really do prefer second hand things to have been cleaned!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

@Brie - enjoy your trip away. I have very good memories of Canada from last year, esp the thrift stores in Sydney. (Never mind it took me full 20 minutes to remember the name of the town!).No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Bon voyage @Brie!
Not found anything in my local chazza shops in yonks. In fact several have closed due, I suspect, to Vinted and similar platforms. Anyhoo, my luck changed today cos I found a nice red M&S midi dress for £5. It is slightly fitted with empire line seaming, a swishy skirt and 20 teeny tiny covered buttons down the front that I know will be a pain. Was also rifling thro a box of redundant glasses cases when I spotted a tan leather case.....a Barbour case! Just the job as I've lost my sun glasses case. Outrageously priced at 25p!!🫢

That dress is gorgeous!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5 -

It struck me the other day that charity shops don't sell things like tools and hardware. I wonder why?6

Really interesting question @Matty246. There are plenty of hammers and the like on car boot sales but never at charity shops. I've bought garden tools at car boots, it's nice to get a solid old piece that has been loved and used by a previous generation, and give it a new lease of life.
