Every time you post about your chazzer-exploits @Cherryfudge and @Miró, I am reminded of this:

LOl that's fun @Rosa_Damascena, but I confess 'Ah'm an off-comed 'un' - even if I'm nearly bi-lingual after all these years! I'm originally from t'other side o' Pennines, lass, but ah've lived a few years dahn sarf too. See how easily I go from on to the other.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Tee Hee!!!
I'm not an authentic 'Yorkshire Lass' either, born in Surrey and lived all over England and North Wales. Been in Yorkshire now for about 12 years and love it here8 -
I had a few work errands to run this morning so used the opportunity to also have a little rummage around a couple of cs in a town I don't often visit. I am intending to look for lovely colourful (silk if possible, but that's not essential) scarves to use for the Japanese art of furoshiki (wrapping gifts in scarves). I reckoned that we could probably keep some scarf gift wrap circulating around our immediate family all year if I started it off. Very disappointing selection on offer and all very expensive, so I came away with nothing. I did however get a brand new and unread hardback Pokemon Encyclopaedia for small grandson's birthday for just £2.10

I didn't find a casserole dish the other day which is weird as normally they are in most charity shops. I popped into the hospice shop on Leigh Rd and I did see a Cath Kidston bag, but it was £20 and I didn't think it was much of a bargain so I left it.7

Nipped out to get some milk this lunchtime - the scenic route was by way of a chazzer, where I bought 8 books for £2 (less than a coffee out). Anything that detracts from the misery of this month gets a thumbs up from moi!No man is worth crawling on this earth.

All today's purchases were wants rather than needs.
- Chazzer 1: A glitzy warm cardigan, and a semi-glitzy blouse (DP) for 50p each; a set of mini-speakers for my laptop for £2 and a brooch for £2. Total spend: £5.
- Chazzer 2: was in a shady part of town, but I was equipped wearing tough walking boots and a scowl. Neither stopped me from nearly getting run over by a 10yo lad on an electric scooter! Chaz was in fact closed for the day.
- Chazzer 3: A very unusual (and heavy) enamel and stone round picture frame for £3, and what I thought was a pill box until I counted the squares and realised it would be ideal for storing pairs of earrings - 50p.
- Chazzer 4: far too packed to stay in for more than a minute.
So £8.50 spent on stuff that might improve my quality of life a little bit.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.8 -
Some very self-indulgent spending today - four old 'pony story' books at £2 each and £3 for a book for a gift for a family member. I'm asking DH to give me the horse stories for my birthday!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
