Meanwhile I was nine miles north of you, @Miró, buying chazza books. Two on vintage crochet at 50p each and one on women in war by Kate Adie (£1.75) - all Cancer Research.
I will be on the lookout for that scarf locally!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Went t’other way today to Northallerton….picked up an Austin Reed black jacket in a fine woollen worsted fabric, sharply tailored and appears unworn, (pockets still stitched), £9.99 in the Sue Ryder shop. Also got a stripey blue, pure linen shirt for £3 in the same shop.8

I had an impromptu stop at a chaz next to a supermarket this afternoon and came away with 2 books, costing £1 each. They were in mint condition (clearly unread!) and I know enough about the kind of stock reading that pops up locally to know I wasn't going to find these two again any time soon:So more that I would usually spend per book, but will definitely bring me more than £2 of pleasure! No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.13 -
I am working from home today and my top half of attire is being worn over a ski base top, the lower has 2 pairs of thermal leggings and crucially the pair of ski salopettes I bought from a chaz last year for all of £3. I am finally feeling comfortable, halleluiah to that! No one can see that my bottom half looks like the Michelin manNo man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.11 -
I am wearing my roll neck jumper and thermal leggings today as it is cold here in sunny (but chilly) Leigh-on-Sea!
I was going to look for a Pyrex/casserole dish today. St Vincent's shop is near my appointment this morning.5 -
I went a bit chaz-wild today - buying 2 coats (Principals and TCM, which is a brand I've never heard of) and a tailored jacket (Edinburgh Woollen Mill) for a total of £9, plus a beautiful beaded slouchy handbag for £2.50. And the obligatory 2 books for 20p each
.
This was before completing my intended mission of returning to yesterday's chazzer to but a double clothes rail for £5.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.8 -

Nearly didn't bother going out today as it was so cold and icy underfoot but glad I did make the trip to Otley and the St Gemma's 99p shop. Got a BNWT Lipsy cream blouse with shirred waist and cuffs for £2.99 from the 'Specials Rail' and a BNWY pair of Whistles black high waisted trousers for 99p. Makes a nice outfit together....5
