My boyfriend picked up 6 T-shirts that look like new and a shirt that looks fabulous on him.  All of that with a candle came to under £30   My bits are in the washing machine now. Really pleased (especially as I had donated a summer dress I felt fat and frumpy in LOL)

Not sure I would have put the jacket & cardi in the washer.

It was a gamble I admit but both came out just fine.  I took the view that if i ruined an item it had only cost me £3.50 for it and that had gone to a good cause.  Luckily for me the mark came out of the cardigan and the jacket will need a quick press after it has dried on a hanger and be fine too.

I do gamble with the washing machine a fair bit and use the delicate setting and just see what happens.  The nearest dry cleaner is a round trip of an hour away and the cardi did say it would go in a washing machine although the jacket had the usual warnings about being delicate and only dry clean in a special bag etc but it is fine

I’m always a bit cavalier about chucking everything, even stuff that says dry clean only, in the wash on a 30 degree delicate wash. Generally it’s fine. The only casualty was a Hobbs skirt which was already a bit short and tight.

I’m another who just washes things, yet to ruin anything. If it was a wool blazer obviously not but generally if it’s not going to be washable it’s not going to work in my life.

I had a bit of a chazzer-windfall last week: one I don't venture into too often had a £1 sale and in addition to the obligatory books (3 for£1) I picked up some blouses, a couple of large tote bags and this heavy 30cm diameter fruit platter: 


The MENCAP in Southend was having an "everything must go" sale this week - will be reopening next month after a refurb - but there wasn't much there. I bought a couple more scarves at £1 each and a hurricane lamp for £3 - you can't see the size from the picture, but it is 25cm tall:


Aspirations a few doors down was having a very underwhelming flash sale, which was actually more like a jumble sale so I didn't bother to look.

My book collection is growing without much effort - have counted up the books I have bought over the last 4 months and it totals 112!

A while ago a lovely MSE’er recommended a hospice chazza for me in Inverness, (searched but sorry cannot find who it was!), anyhoo, visited it today, (Highland Hospice)…..what a lovely shop!  Really spacious, over two floors, nicely set out and lovely staff.  The prices were eye wateringly high tho….£50 for an ordinary dress!  Called into another 3 in the town and similarly all seemed very expensive too.  Mind you everything seems more expensive here than back home 😨

Not too sure what has happened to the chazzer in Inverness, it was astonishingly reasonable when I visited (admittedly a good 5 years ago now) but prices seem to have inflated over ten-fold?!

It was me! Agree about the boutiquey feel. Didn’t realise it was so dear - sorry!!
