  • Weekly round up: 23/02-01/03

    Mortgage: £10.63
    Holiday: £8.07

Last week of Feb and I have had a really product month physically, started with realising I could jog for five mins in a row, then after talking with people, realised a lot of the issue with jogging is in my head! So I did a jog that ended up lasting 23mins 54 seconds and it was hard but good, then this week topped that with a 47min jog. This is so close to a very slow 3k run, I am still using couch to 5k but wondering if I am happy on my own now that I have broken the mental barrier to a certain degree. Really want to actually jog an entire 5k/3miles! I have smashed the 1000mile challenge for the month, and am currently over 18miles ahead as I reach March, so set myself up well! Going partying today so no big walk and feel a bit lost, might try and do a walk of some kind tomorrow, not sure what we are doing yet.

Money is still being spend on new clothes, needed waterproof trousers for my marathon trek, and have gotten so wet on my walks feel like this was a good investment. I then spent a ridiculous amount of money on the coolest leggings I have ever seen.... I feel like now I fit more mainstream sizes, the options for self expression have really opened up! My trail run is a week today, already know I will be walking up and down hill, but will be able to jog on the flat. Have family coming to meet me which is lovely.

Ended the month with some money needed from general savings- big dog medication purchase, gas. But that is fine, some months are like that, as long as we don't make it a habit. Will do Feb round up shortly!

  • Fabulous February round up:

Mortgage: £99.44 (not including £105 regular OP)
    Holiday: £397.71
    My savings: £381
    Joint savings: £300.94

This has been a really good month for holidays! We got money back from cashback and a refund on our electric so this has helped with good boosts. I am also sending an extra £100 a month to the house account just for holidays as I want to ensure we have enough to have everything covered and no stress, or debt!

Joint savings have been needed for dog medication and gas, but hoping this is a one off. Will monitor. I have enjoyed the exact four weeks of this month, not looking forward to March being a five weeker haha.

@KeepOnKnitting I really do, there is still a long way to go, which is hard to deal with at times. But the changes have been incredible when I break them down! Did a 5k trail run today, some good uphill sections including a bit of a scramble, and I completed it in less than 1 hour, which blew me away!

    Weekly round up: 02/03-08/03

    Mortgage: £73.92
    Holiday: £296.32
    Joint savings: £283.50

Another good start to the month, I had rejigged all the monies for the month but still owed the house a food shop, so sent that £65 over to the mortgage. We hit the 124's this month! Woohoo! Added to general savings, but kitchen was finally painted and completed, so a big chunk of savings went away. That is the point of saving though right?? Kitchen is more green than I expected, so not quite the blow away, but the colour is good, and once the rest of the kitchen is now updated- we will tile the walls, get a new/used sink, new/used oven and replace the worktops, I am hoping I will be in love with it once it is all finished off!

Holiday is looking healthier again, going to have a look at the current figures and work out if we are on target for booked holidays, hoping it is looking good after a bit of a spend on flights and hotel for Oct this year- still got a good deal, but spending money looks bad on the accounts!

Got £10 off the injection this month, and have increased the dose as feeling very hungry at times and still not got the hang of not overeating when the food noise comes, but that is fine. The change to my life with using it, has been epic!

    Weekly round up: 15/03-22/03

    Mortgage: £8.34
    Holiday: £107.99
    Joint savings: £100
    My savings: £331.05

I have upped my contribution to the house account by £100 a month and am thinking this will be popped over to the holiday account, would like to think about sending more to the mortgage, but if I am honest, holidays feel more important to my overall health at the moment. The desire to go out and adventure is so strong, we have been doing day trips, walks and after work small adventures, but I want more. Work just gets in the way, haha.

Keeping up with the physical activity, need to get a bit more of a structure as the marathon hike is less than 100 days away and I don't want the whole thing to feel really hard, just hard would be nice. Have signed up to race for life 5k in July and a 7k trail run in October to keep me focused. Jogged for 4miles this week, the last mile was ridiculous and my asthma was not happy, I just wanted to see if I could! And now I know I can, I think I will focus on the 3.1 miles/5k runs and trying to just get quicker, rather than trying to do too many things. Biggest focus is on hill and distance walking for the marathon trek, I am monitoring my 'boots on' miles for the 1000 miles challenge, and the miles each week are stacking up which is reassuring.

    Mortgage: £8.59
    Holiday: £107.99

This hundred for the holiday is the extra I am putting in monthly- so it went in early as I couldn't be bothered moving it until the 1st, so moved it now! Another little extra for the mortgage, can remortgage this year so will have a play on the calculator later. Fingers crossed for a better deal than last time!

Still enjoying getting out and adventuring, have walked/jogged over 20 miles this week, I am counting 'boot on', so when I am actually going on a purposeful walk, not just steps so this feels like a huge achievement, most miles in a week this year so far! Got a longer, hilly walk planned this afternoon, hoping we won't get blown away in the wind!

Bit disorganised with the mothers day gifts, and now neither are arriving on time, oops! Ah well, I feel they are really good gifts, so worth it when they come!

Well done on the exercise, it's amazing how far you've come over the last year with it!
  • Thanks @FacelessNumber, I am aware I may become a bore these days as all I want to do is plan walks and go on walks!haha. Have found it really difficult to keep on top of money stuff, it seems there is not enough room in my head for everything!

May share some photos of some of the lovely things I have seen!

Utilising the bank holiday to catch up on money- oops! So, from 30th March to the 19th April- already added in an extra £1 from each account to cover tomorrow!

    Holiday: £678
    Mortgage: £58.78

I moved £650 from DH's self employed earnings, as we seem to have booked a few concerts, nights away and bits and bobs, so holiday needs to be kept on top of so we don't need to borrow any!! Nothing booked that I regret...so far!haha. It has been nice this month, as no gas needed so far, but there is still enough days left that we might need to. Also needed middle dogs expensive medications, so that was an extra £100 gone from the get go! Ah well, he is very worth it!
