Spectacular September round up:
Other: £82.16
Loan: £123.80
Holiday: £900
Savings: £2150
Mortgage: £100
Not a bad looking month at all, good amount off the loan in total, not a bad amount towards the kitchen works set to take place this month, holiday will be happy for a while and savings have been used a little here and there- all scoped out, nothing unexpected. Mortgage will be happy to have had a little boost as well, this is extra on top of the standard £105 we are paying a month extra at the moment.0 -
Excellent work on the walking! Sounds like your fitness is progressing nicely!1

Thanks @FacelessNumber was feeling a bit cocky I think, did well today then went up a long steep section and was so fatigued
but unlike past me, I just shrugged and kept on going!

Weekly round up
Holiday: £80.90
Loan: £7.78
Savings: £500
Holiday fund: £189.74. Had cashback as well as the interest and cash back on our accounts so nice top up this week. I think I will count up our holiday fund and work out where it stands and what else is needed. We have Copenhagen in Dec, the Lakes next May and the cruise April 2026 booked so far. My little sister is talking about a short break next April as a family, looking at £500 each so will see what she comes up with. Though I may have a nosy too, do like looking and researching!
Loan OP since Oct 2023: £1691.03/£1792.45. £93.64 to go, the loan is now showing it will be paid off 24/08/27, so another month gone. I am almost sure that I will just pay this money back, probs in Dec when the 5% saver matures, as I would like to continue with the 4k 4% saver and 7% saver so need to make sure we still have enough money without the loan to achieve this. Or pay off a good chunk and just see how it goes. I may change my mind again, I am prone to this! It is nice to have direct access to this cash for savings etc.

Weekly round up
Holiday: £15.49
Loan: £11.02
Holiday fund: £205.23. Good total so far this month. Feels less intense to use the PADs, they are usually around £100 a month which fits well with projected need in holiday!
Loan OP since Oct 2023: £1702.05/£1792.45. £90.40 to find, slow and steady. This month has ended up being spendy so won't be an extra boost at the end of the month like I have sometimes. Still thinking I will just pay it back in December time, I will get to keep the approx £3k I have already backwards saved!

Weekly round up:
Holiday: £8.74
Loan: £7.94
Holiday fund: £213.97. Good total, last week of the month and don't think there will be anything left from this months budget to boost, looking forward to the 1st and restarting a month!
Loan OP since Oct 2023: £1709.99/£1792.45. £82.46 to go. Still thinking of being rid of this loan, then also wondered if it could become 'our' loan rather than just mine. Backwards saving type of thing. But is it worth it? Working through the statement for the year, there are 17 times interest added is mentioned, but not always credited, I am confused, will get hubby to check later. One thing is interesting, the first monthly interest was £40.03, and the latest one was £26.22, so that is a great thing. The life of the loan this should have been £40.03 every month without any changes. Last month I paid £136.73 the capital instead of £122.92.
Finally hit 3stone weight loss. Have a bloody cold and chesty cough this week, feeling quite rough. Planning on trying to go for a hilly walk tomorrow, hoping chest will behave. Did a four mile flat walk last week at good pace, but was feeling poorly then as well. Fed up, don't know why my body hasn't sorted itself out! Either make me poorly enough to be off work, or get better.
5% saver had the last payment this month, so payout may be November, but hubby thought it may be Dec, whichever, that will be a little boost.1 -
Oof I feel you on the illness front. We've all had covid this week and it's completely wiped us out. Went for a walk round the shop today as felt better and testing negative but now feel like I need a nap!
The loan progress is excellent, well done!1 -
@FacelessNumber its awful isn't it? Mine isn't covid thankfully, but chest infection, still coughing but much better this last couple of days. Wipes you out though doesn't it? Hope you are all rested and better! Thank you!

Weekly roundup, November edition!
Holiday: £20.35
Loan: £47
Mortgage: £50 and standard OP of £105
Holiday fund: £234.32. Nice addition this week, I do like adding to the holiday fund regularly, so important to me, love an explore and holiday. 28 days until Copenhagen, super excited!
Loan OP since Oct 2023: £1756.99/£1792.45. £35.46 to go to knock off this next month, rounded down my personal savings account as PADs only equaled £7.93 and I wanted a bit more impact! It does just show how much difference it can make. Still thinking I will pay the remainder back within these next two months.
Not being very sensible with pennies this week, bought lunch 4/5 days, I am blaming feeling under the weather and just wanting convenience. Have made the effort to buy different rolls for next week so that I feel I am having something a bit different for lunch, hopefully this will help! Also not feeling as rubbish, today is the best day in over two weeks.
Not been mobilising much and have missed that, it is also dark so quickly and with my chest just not felt much. Did complete another Marilyn last weekend, was tough, especially with the crappy chest, but was good to tick another off. Not sure how many more I will do this year now, partly because they are all a lot bigger and I think I need more fitness so I don't put myself off!
Went to look at the local gym, makes me so anxious just going in, £32 a month with NHS discount for gym and swim. Not sure if this is good or not! I did think the treadmill would be a good training option for the dark nights and cold weather, to keep me going over Winter.

Month review: Opportune October!
Holiday: £125.48
Loan: £73.74
Savings: £500
Mortgage: £155
My Savings: £253.13
Not bad at all, my own spends took a battering, and not been totally sensible since payday with my own money but will pull it back from today. Holiday has had a lovely boost, without having to add any in from our monthly budget. This works well as electric has now shot up from £50 a month, to £84- when asked why, they said it is winter payments- rolling my eyes. And we will need to start buying gas bottles soon, they were £147 for two last time we bought them, if we are careful and its not too cold, these will last a month at a time.0
