- I have spent £7.99 and got a weeks free Pr*me so free delivery on 10syringes with needles, this is because the injectable insulin you get, has an amount left every month that you cannot use. I have looked up 'using the 5th dose' and this seems a legitimately good way to do it, the dose should be 0.6ml, so I can measure that on the syringe and make sure I am using the right amount, or if it is slightly less, I will be mindful of that. This will mean the injection will last 5 weeks instead of 4
Save £12k in 2025 #33 £2531.77/£5000 (If this carries on I might have to up my target!)
April take lunch to work goal - 3 of 121 -
Thanks @KeepOnKnitting, I have a sharps box as part of the injections so that is covered! As it is insulin, it is a really small needle and technique is nice and simple, could not manage if it was a long needle!1

Weekly round up:
Other: £22.84
Loan: £11.21
Holiday: £400
Joint Savings: £800
Other cumulative total: £179.50/£2000. I still need a further £1820.50 to reach this target, this is definitely an unrealistic target by Oct 14th, but it is still a target!
Loan OP since Oct 2023: £1555.97/£1629.50. Another £73.53 to knock another month off, this may be achieved by the end of Sept, in total have sent £62.21 over to the loan this month so a little extra would make it.
Added to both holiday and joint savings with DH earnings, will have some more income coming in until the end of Sept then back to basics! I am adding a lot to holiday, as we have the cruise in 2026 and it would be nice to know that when income decreases there is no pressure on reaching this target easily.0 -
Amazing August Round Up:
Other: £179.50
Loan: £62.21
Mortgage: £100
Holiday: £1007.50
Savings: £2285
What a lovely month for adding to savings! Moved £450 to our bill account from the savings account as that is DH contribution generally and it is all his self employed work in the savings account, so it is a little less in total- but savings are there to be used! We have not had a year where we have built so much savings so well. Makes me happy! The first full month not having a credit card to pay off as well, that's lovely!
I am looking at my loan as a retrospective savings, will decide if changing anything once the 5% saver account expires in Nov 2024. 7% saver will expire July 2025 so that is running in the background. 4% saver will keep going until Santndr decides to stop it!
Feeling worried about Winter already, hearing about all the rates going up again just fills me with dread. I feel so bad for all those people scrimping and saving already, the world just seems cruel and unfair. I am not watching any news, I cannot handle all the horribleness! Relying on Martin to keep me updated on money stuff, at least he is unbiased and truthful.
Savings will be used to cover house insurance which goes out 01/09/2024, got a good deal comparative to renewal quote, and will get £30 cashback at some point.

Things I have done this week towards my goals:
Me stuff: Used the '5th' dose of 5mg Mounjaro, this will mean an extra week before I need to buy another injection, have been trying to keep the walking up, not hitting targets this week though. In the last two weeks, after a long stall, I have lost 5lbs and am 5lbs away from the next stone bracket- I cannot remember the last time I was in that weight bracket, exciting! Car sensor has been ordered and DH will fit it once it arrives today, £58 spent, hopefully will help with efficiency of fuel once changed. I am keeping a daily note of all spends that I make, this helps with noticing any patterns, and thinking about what I am spending does help. Felt slightly less anxious in work this week, but was also only 4 days haha.
Loan: Continuing to PAD daily. Sent off a months worth of PADs today, will help monitor the impact, as they are very slow at applying them to the account and it gets confusing
House: Added to savings, have also been trying to get better at keeping on top of chores, especially when DH is away. Plan to do some more weeding tomorrow!

Sounds like a really positive month, well done! I just decided to switch to a fix for energy as it looks like it will be cheaper at least for 6 months with the prices rising again. We have solar which helps us build up a lot of credit in the summer so hoping to keep the DD lowish for winter as I'm not going back to work until March!

My dad has to inject blood thinners we bought a load of needles and alcohol wipes from there. 8 quid for 200 needles and 3 quid for the wipes saved us a load of hassle.2 -
Thanks @FacelessNumber it has felt like a good month! We locked in for a year earlier this year, so hoping it will be in our favour, it should be based on prices increasing, I just like to know what I am paying is set, stresses me out the whole variable cost thing!
Thanks @Scott_Weiland79 will have a look there next time I need them, love a bargain!0 -

Goal weekly round up:
Me stuff: Still really struggling to get continuity with exercise and movement, can't really work out what it is that is stopping me! Can be frustrating when I don't know why I sabotage myself! Have also missed the dose for the last three days, need to take it today, again, why am I self sabotaging by not injecting in time??? I don't understand me! Especially as another 4lbs down and I will be the lowest weight I have been since I was mid twenties, that should be a boost not a reason to ruin it.
Loan: Carrying on with PADs, trying to remember that it is important not to rush this, it is what it is! And every penny extra helps. Have sent off this PAD for the week, didn't like waiting all month to send it!
House: Not a lot of change, continue to add to savings toward the kitchen, will do some weeding this weekend and we are going to look at replacing the handles for the kitchen, and colours we like for the cabinets.
Off out for a family meal today, will be lovely to see everyone and always love food, going to inject in a min though, need to not self sabotage!1
