Congratulations 👏👏Sealed pot challenge 822
Jan - £176.66 :j0 -
Thanks @dawnybabes
Back from hols, Copenhagen was amazing! Not cheap, but still a brilliant holiday, we did so much and walked so far! Decided to avoid any real life until today, so not been PADing etc, but have gone through the accounts today to sort out.
Mortgage: £105.50 standard OP and £10 from my PADs
Our savings: £47.48
Holiday: £5.92
Not bad for a December start! Electricity is still in credit around £70, so even with the Christmas lights on we shouldn't see a huge change to this over the next few months, hoping gas will last a month, but not sure about this!
Went on a really long walk on Thursday, aimed for 9.5 miles, but started on a slightly longer route by accident, then started to follow another route which would have been 14miles so turned back, mapmywalk malfunctioned so not sure how far we actually walked, it said we had been walking for over 10hours and walked 0.05 of a mileWe reckon it was between 11-12 miles, I kept up a good pace, but was really deflated the last couple of miles, it was raining and felt so long and hard. I did it though!

Weekly round up
Mortgage: £11.94
Holiday: £31.51
I quite like that I am now sending money to the mortgage regularly, that feels good. Holiday getting its top ups is also great. Really didn't expect to end the year completely debt free, what a wonderful end to 2024!2 -
Weekly round up:
Mortgage: £14.71
Holiday: £14.31
Not bad for the week before Christmas! Think I have bought everything needed now, got most of the food in so thats all good.
I have changed from 13mile trek, to 26mile trek, partly regretting this decision, but this feels like a good challenge! Roll on end of June. I have also signed up to a beginners trail running class, the plan is two face to face a month for Jan and Feb, online support and a training plan, then a 5k run in March! Feels much less scary than a marathon haha, especially a marathon with 1000metres of elevation gain!1 -
Weekly round up:
Mortgage: £10.04
Holiday: £16.55
My savings: £312.14
Joint savings: £500
Another good inroads here, we are definitely going to drop into the 124's in the mortgage on the next payment, which is exciting! So that will be 1st Jan 2025, feels like a positive start to the year!

You are doing so well! Trail running sounds exciting, I've tried it a bit and liked it.

Oh I missed an update! That is the first in a while!
Saturday 4th roundup:
Mortgage: £7.76
Holiday: £148.59
Joint savings: £202
Not too shabby for the end of Dec start of Jan!
Saturday 11th Jan roundup:
Mortgage: £9.38
Holiday: £14.22
Already feel like I am spending a fortune and its only the beginning of Jan! The problem with loosing weight and exercising is the need for new clothes! Also going to look at trainers with better grips as trail running at this time of year is muddy! Went to the first class, was terrified, definitely the fattest and slowest, but went anyway! Been practising some walking/running and making good inroads for the 1000 miles in 2025 challenge.
Went a bit crazy, and booked for a sunny holiday in October. All this cold weather inspired a desire to enjoy some heat, due to DH probably doing his self employed work over the summer, we picked October. So long away, but will get there eventually! Just after booking, the boiler broke! We had no heating or hot water for just under 2 days but felt like so long in this cold cold weather. Luckily we have a log burner in the back room and lots of logs, and an electric heater to keep the house from freezing. £120 to be fixed and serviced, so that is good!
Keeping up with dry Jan and RED January so far, weather knocks my confidence when I go out- scared of falling and breaking something! Will thaw tomorrow so will see where I may wander!0 -
Darling December Round up:
Mortgage: £168.79
Holiday: £231.10
My savings: £312.14
Joint savings: £749.48
Joint savings includes a lovely £500 Christmas gift which we don't know what to spend on yet! And we have spent more from the holiday account to book the October holiday, but that's why it is there! My savings are looking healthy, but will need my next injection soon so that will knock some of that down. Again, what it is there for! Had to use some general savings to pay for the boiler to be repaired- so glad the man fixed it so quickly and also very glad it doesn't need replacing yet. Flew through the last lot of gas- seems wrong to me, but cannot explain it, so that will be another £150 to pay for that, I imagine we will need to use general savings- I have added money in there for extra gas payments. DH has moved our electricity to another deal, hopefully this will save a little and we will be expecting a refund of nearly £90 as we are in credit.
@TooMuchSnow thank you, I have no stamina currently, but did little bits of runs! Terrified of falling over!

Congratulations on becoming deft free!
Have you tried "Get Fit with Rick"? - it is available on YouTube.
They are "walking" workouts and you choose if you want to do 1000 steps, 3000 steps etc. They are really good if you don't fancy going outside in this weather, and lets face it who does, but it helps get the steps in.
I found out about him on Sun Addicts diary - her diary is worth looking at for different types of exercise available as she takes part in so many1 -
Thanks @theoldmansmrs I have heard of him but not tried any of his work outs, will have a nosy! I like a lady called fabulous 50's, and whilst I am too young technically, I like how she does her exercises! It is always good to find new work outs and things to try! Thank you for the congrats as well0
