  • Weekly round up:

    Mortgage: £7.69
    Holiday: £33.20

Small but something for the mortgage, it does seem hard to see how these small OPs will make a difference, but I know they will eventually! Wondering if holiday may need more boosting that it is getting with all the plans that I have! But that depends on the gas, if it behaves may be able to manouver more money to holiday, if it doesn't will have to line the pockets of the gas companies! Would love to go to a krampus event in December this year, so will have an explore to see where to go and if there are any offers to be had! Blame the dogs for making this so much more expensive!haha.

Had a very difficult week this week, my tolerance to stress is very low and I think I may have been pushing myself too much and exhausted myself. Need to remember this is a literal marathon, not a sprint and I need to take good care of myself. My brain has been so negative and I have been struggling so much. Luckily DH is very lovely and has listened and validated my unhappiness.

Decided not to go to the running class today, the early morning didn't appeal, I am so tired- physically and mentally, and it is not compulsory to go. The next class will be at the end of my annual leave, so I feel that will be a good time to go, I will be refreshed hopefully!
  • Weekly round up:

    Mortgage: £34.46
    Holiday: £8.86
    My savings: £400

My payday this week, had £22.24 left so this was PADed over to the mortgage which made it a nice amount! Also added £400 to savings, I am thinking that as we had the payrise, I may start sending an extra £100 to the holiday every month unless something crops up, I am choosing this rather than more to the mortgage as I have so many places I want to explore, and the future is not guaranteed. Feels like a good option for now. Managed to add some new clothes and things to my budget this month without having to access my savings, including the injection, which was good. Using my family chemist as they are cheaper than medxpress now. Always worth shopping around.

So far I am smashing RED January, moving purposefully everyday and Dry January- this has been difficult on two occasions I have really wanted a wine to unwind! But I held strong. Have continued with my trail to 5k training, but am using the couch to 5k app to help with the running bit, week 1 completed and not too bad. Working on enjoying movement, not just pushing myself.

Off work this week and genuinely cannot wait, have some fun planned but also relaxing.

Enjoy your week off. I've just had two and I feel so much more ready for work today.

April take lunch to work goal - 3 of 12
  • Longest gap for over a year! Have been doing bits and bobs on paper, keeping up, but seem to find the focus on movement has taken over my brainspace and finding it hard to keep on top of other things!haha. Not enough room in there for work, fitness training, relax time and finances

Anyway, I have the details, my annual leave week I didn't PAD at all, but did at the end of the week just move a pound a day for each account. I will review Jan, then catch up on Feb money, maybe sharing some of fitness goals, but don't want to bore anyone!

Weekly round up for 26/01/25- 01/02/25:

    Mortgage: £7
    Holiday: £7
  • Jam Packed January round up:

    Mortgage: £66.29
    Holiday: £211.87
    My savings: £400
    Joint savings: £202

That is a good looking round up to be fair! From my perspective, I smashed Dry January and RED January! Marathon trek feels like it is constantly looming so trying to do a hilly/long walk once a week, hard to fit in around working 9-5 if I am honest, will be easier when nights are lighter. Not attending the trail to 5k training in person, long drive, but also I feel way above my personal fitness, I don't think they actually know what an unfit person is as they are asking a lot. But, I am using couch to 5k to help me with the running/jogging, did three minutes in a row this week and so so pleased with that. Got the 5k trail run in March, will still go, but have realistic expectations as it is so steep up and down in one section.

  • 02/02/2025- 08/02/2025 weekly round up:

Mortgage: £9.05 plus £105 standard OP
    Holiday: £259.13
    Joint savings: £300.94

Good start to Jan, got some extra money so trying to use it well!
  • 09/02/2025- 15/02/2025 weekly round up:

    Mortgage: £56.97
    Holiday: £122.87

Got refunds from the electric company as we switched- we paid a month in advance and were in credit, so this was a nice bit back! Also got cashback from a few items, so sent that money to the mortgage. Can't see holiday continuing with its current growth, but it feels good to be sending money over. Got the lakes and Corfu booked for this year, and thinking of the lakes with the family in Jan next year, then the cruise next year to the fjords. I do love getting out and about, but it is so costly, especially with three dogs!! Ah well, my choice!
  • Weekly round up: 16/02-22/2/2025

    Mortgage: £22.97
    Holiday: £7.64
    My Savings: £381

Payday is always lovely, feels great to have some savings going in, though it is likely I will need to use some for my injection this month. Also bought a couple more clothing items, weight loss is great but expensive in so many ways!

Had a really productive couple of weeks with walking and jogging, feeling really proud of myself and the changes I am making, it is so hard at times. Need to remind myself that staying where I am may be 'comfortable' (I understand where I am now), but change, as hard as it can be, is necessary. Managed a walk of almost 15miles yesterday, really proud of myself!

  • @lucielle I have lost 4stone 5lbs now, still a fair few to go, but it is the motivation and movement that I am really obsessed with! I have never had so much oomph!!
