Thank you, Mr PJ.  I hope Pip starts to respond to the treatment without too many nasty side effects. 

I appreciate that things will be a bit fraught for you both for the next couple of months.  However, please remember that you need a bit of love and care too.  If things get too much for you and you need to sound off, please think of us as a safe space to do just that.

One advantage of being ladies of a certain age is that if we haven't gone through this ourselves, then we have been close to someone who has.

Thank you for the update Mr Pip and wishing Pip all the very best. As others have said please don’t feel obliged to keep us up to date on Pip’s progress but as and when would be appreciated. 

Residents of  Much Mending I have been mending. Having acquired a black velvet hussar style dress uniform jacket that has clearly been through the wars I’ve raided the embroidery thread and closed the hole. It’s not perfect but far less obvious in daylight than it in this photo 

I was considering patching with material from a very generous seam allowance (obviously made pre war)  but it looks like I shall get away without that additional work. If needs be I shall hide the mend in plain sight with some
decorative shoulder pips from my button collection.

I bought a navy long sleeve M&S t-shirt,  and an M&S powder blue jumper that feels almost like cashmere, both from charity shop.

Technically no coupons, but as I've never been one for brand new clothes shopping anyhow (due to both being poor and plus size) I'm keeping a tally for second hands too, so 12 for these and my gloves from the other day. New new, or just new to me, it's a good way of keeping my wardrobe to an appropriate size and buying more mindfully.

@flamingo747 I’ll take another of it laid flat. It has frogging up the sleeves too. Modern Monsoon  but I’ve always been a sucker for gold braid. Too much Adam Ant at a formative age!
