Hi all, I have joined for next year but wanted to post here my massive thanks @PipneyJane for running this thread. It really transformed my clothing buying habit since I found you all . I also want to thank all the other people who post with such knowledge and information and ideas. It really is a wonderful place to visit
I am on the look out for some trousers in the sales today so may be back in a bit if I am lucky enough to find some

I’ve liberated some questionable red wine from the cricket club’s cellar downstairs.  Give me 10 minutes and I’ll have it mulled and drinkable again.  Please grab a glass or mug and we’ll drink a toast to Much Mending On The Borrow!

We will be tucked up in the Morrison shelter with our hot water bottles and flask of tea very soon. The blitz has started early tonight, though not too near, so far.  
I had hoped the strong wind would have prevented it tonight.

Sadly, mortars sound to be landing on an adjacent property here, despite the howling gale!  I'm not sure how I'll get to sleep tonight.

Happy New Year. I have not posted for ages but this thread really helped me look at spending on clothes.  I am pleased to say my spends were one t-shirt and one sweatshirt and a cape.  And a black knitted dress that I will need for a funeral soon I think (bought in sales as have been looking for a secondhand one for a while).   Was going to borrow from a girlfriend but that will involve a dry cleaning bill as I return the item as she is bound to lend me something I'll be scared to put in the washing machine so a cheap knitted dress seemed fine.
