We will be tucked up in the Morrison shelter with our hot water bottles and flask of tea very soon. The blitz has started early tonight, though not too near, so far.  
I had hoped the strong wind would have prevented it tonight.

Sadly, mortars sound to be landing on an adjacent property here, despite the howling gale!  I'm not sure how I'll get to sleep tonight.

Happy New Year. I have not posted for ages but this thread really helped me look at spending on clothes.  I am pleased to say my spends were one t-shirt and one sweatshirt and a cape.  And a black knitted dress that I will need for a funeral soon I think (bought in sales as have been looking for a secondhand one for a while).   Was going to borrow from a girlfriend but that will involve a dry cleaning bill as I return the item as she is bound to lend me something I'll be scared to put in the washing machine so a cheap knitted dress seemed fine.

@diminua - They are more like perennials than people think. In Southern California, I just leave them be for several years and they do produce for more than one year. Love the picture of your tomato plant - wishing it good health and a successful year!
