Dear Ladies of Much Mending on the Borrow,

This is PipneyJane’s Husband, I just wanted to give you all an update on Pip’s situation.

She was admitted to hospital last Wednesday with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.  She is currently undergoing chemotherapy and had the first dose of heavy duty drugs yesterday (Monday).  The course of treatment will take approx 20 weeks of 6x3 week cycles.

Pip wanted me to let you all know, so she logged me into her account and left me to type this (don’t worry she will edit/approval this before it’s published, she’s just way to knackered to type).

So the next 6 months are going to be tough, but the prognosis is very good.

I hope she is well enough herself to read our replies. I do know how tiring even the smallest bit of thinking and typing can be, so please tell her we don't expect to hear directly from her until she is absolutely feeling up to the mark once again, and I hope better than she has done in a few years- this must have been building for a long time, dragging her down and tiring her out, poor thing. 

If you're able to post every so often to let us know how she's getting on, that would be lovely, but we don't expect you to go to the effort of posting every detail- after all, this is 1942 and we're used to having to wait for the overseas post to arrive...! 

Please do send her tons and tons of love to her from us all here in the Village Hall- and once she's better, we shall have a fabulous party to welcome her home again to Much Mending on the Borrow- I shall start putting aside food-coupons now...!

Thank you so much for the update, Mr PJ, please give our love to Pip - but stay for a cuppa before you go, you are very welcome. Have a seat! There's cake in the tin and the kettle will be boiled in a minute.

@PipneyJane, we'll keep the home fires burning for you here in the Village Hall: I think the dog is missing you but we distracted him with a bit of stick throwing and he is now muddy but happy. Mr Hitler can't stop that!

@Laura_Elsewhere, thank you for sending reliable links. You are right there's some dodgy stuff out on the Internet, the NHS is good though.

Thank you for the update Mr PJ. Send Pip our love and very best healing vibes. We will all be here when she's ready and able to pop in, so tell her to take it easy. I hope the treatment goes well and isn't too gruelling.
