Lovemula I think Bazza has spoken wise words  <3 just remember to be kind to yourself

Well done every one else for braving the scales I know it isn't always easy

I had dinner with family and friends this week and remembered how obsessed one of my friends can get when starting a new diet the last time she was calorie counting you couldn't eat anything with her without her telling you the calorie count of everything.  This plan means she is wearing a glucose monitor on her arm i think it may be the Zoe plan? and she was checking the levels after eating she didn't eat the takeaway but had some birthday cake so her sugar levels spiked comparing it with the piece she had the day.  She has lost 4 stone a couple of times over the last 12 years and put back about 1.5 stone from the last time.  I'm not sure she appreciated me telling her not to get too obsessed by it! I'm afraid when she is like this I end up eating more after being told the calories etc

    Have a good weekend everyone
I was in an online weight group about 12 months ago and one or two of the lads were starting Zoe trials.

As my wife has been a type 1 diabetic for 45 years I know a little bit about spikes/falls (not vain enough to pretend I'm an expert, if only it WAS an exact science), I've witnessed horrendous yoyos with both.....and I really do mean horrendous.

Similar story with those lads, they did seem to become a little obsessed with their sugar levels, certainly not a bad thing in itself but its obvious certain foods will spike your sugars more than others. Its a fantastic plan if you NEED to keep a strict control over your sugars, say if you are becoming a borderline type 2 diabetic and/or you want to know what effect food has on your system so as you can eat/drink healthier now and in the future, thats all good.

But if you are relatively 'healthy' then its not necessarily a healthy thing to become obsessed by it, certainly not if its taking your life over.

    Sermon over, sorry!

Sermon allowed Bazza  :) I have gotten on my own soapbox.  My friend isn't diabetic or prediabetic and has about 1 - 1.5stone she wants to lose, but unfortunately does get overly focus on diets. She has used a personal trainer twice a week for several years so is quite fit it's just after her daughters' wedding a year ago the weight had begun to creep back on again.  She a good friend so i do bite my tongue on being lectured to on each new diet choice and ignore her trying persuade me to try it she will eventually run out of steam on it!
