I am sorely tempted to make my last day 16th April as it’s one day after the annual bonus is paid! I verbally told them I would try to give 6 months notice, but contractually I only have to give one. Plus I guess if I am not planning to work anymore in that type of job or role, I don’t need a reference anyway!2

My employer won't pay a bonus if you are under notice (I'm sure there are terms of employment that may cover this on an individual basis).Pat38493 said:I am sorely tempted to make my last day 16th April as it’s one day after the annual bonus is paid! same here. As I am on 3 months notice and bonus gets paid in June that would mean working the whole summer of 2026. I don't think I can stand to do that so will probably just work a couple of months into the tax year (if that) till daughter graduates and then be gone.cloud_dog said:

They have told me before that the bonus is paid if you are still employed on that date, regardless whether you handed your notice in or not.cloud_dog said:

I am not sure I want to test that concept to destruction, but I think I have it in writing in my emails from one of the HR managers somewhere in my email files.2 -
The same with my company, UNLESS you are retiring 😊cloud_dog said:

Initially it went slowly for me, then the last couple of months went so fast, it’ll be here before you know it. The weather should be much better by then as wellI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pension, Debt Free Wanabee, and Over 50 Money Saving boards. Congrats to @cloud_dog and @arthur_fowler !I'm not there yet (getting closer) but we did hit a milestone recently when Mrs QrizB checked her state pension forecast and got those magic words "you cannot improve your forecast any further" which means she's paid (or been credited with) enough NI
