…things are happening, fairly informally. They will find a replacement for me and possibly
move me onto something where I can leave with minimal impact. I want to drag out july as I want the additional money, although it’s just buffer. Not essential.1 -
And likely better weather than April, so more chance to go somewhere nice outside to unwind.

I've been interested in people's comments around the work / time dragging once you commit, as weirdly I am finding the complete opposite; I haven't enjoyed my job , engaged with activities with such zeal and enthusiasm for ages (years)!
I assume it is the freedom offered because of the situation, the finality of any activity. Whoop whoop.Personal Responsibility - Sad but True
Sometimes.... I am like a dog with a bone3 -
I've enjoyed reading this thread, and think it's time to put my plans 'out there' to maybe make myself more accountable.
I turned 55 recently - and initially planned that this would be the year. So I'm already in OMY territory!
My plan now is to leave at the end of June 26 (74 weeks), even though I think I'd be OK now. One of the main drivers is that we should soon have the proceeds of a house sale to invest, so I'd like to mop-up a good chunk of carry-forward allowance on my pension this FY and next, and hopefully get another 2 bonuses sacrificed into the pot, leaving just after the second bonus is paid.
My employer is currently involved in a merger, so there is the slim possibility of redundancy which I'd definitely put my hand up for.
If the bonus scheme is changed or it looks unlikely to pay out in June 26 then I may not stay so long.
There - I've said it - I'm on my 74 week countdown!11 -

I know what you mean about enthusiasm - for me it’s definitely the fact I know what I’m doing, and that I won’t have to do it all over again this time next year
But in between meetings I can’t help wondering what I’ll be doing this time next year. Especially on sunny days like this. There’s been some lunchtime online sales shopping for hiking gear and hobby supplies.

I have felt a weight lifted and weirdly I feel I’ve been more productive since I handed in my letter. I’m also being (even) more outspoken about the things that annoy me or the company need to improve!
Somebody said I will be skipping out of the office on my last day and I think that is an accurate prediction!6 -

I assume it is the freedom offered because of the situation, the finality of any activity. Whoop whoop.Although I know I'm quite good at my job and have generated millions for my employer, I also understand that I am ultimately replaceable. I fully earn my salary and appreciate the freedom my employer provides for now, but I also know that one day, I could simply submit my resignation and walk away without looking back.
