CoG I will definitely not be taking decorations down until the last minute of 12th night. In fact I put a few more up today - but only because we were so engrossed in the conservatory building mess and social stuff that not much went up....my usual time to put them up is around 12th Dec so not the very beginning of Advent; I hate it when public places put decs up so early.
Yesterday I got lots of yellow stickers in Mr T so the freezer is much fuller. Also 2 loads through the washing machine, Pilates and unpacking.
today:
- rang to book a car service
- wudupa
- picked foliage as I had one to make for our coffee table; it's one of my favourite containers, a small, low, boat-shaped silver basket which I just put small flowers horizontally. I have 2 more to do tomorrow for New Year gifts.
- consolidated a lot of small bags of presents and debris which we'd brought back from Mum's into one bag of presents each. Put some away.
- decided that I can live without putting all the Christmas decorations up so just added a couple of ornaments and some tinsel to the tree, a bit of tinsel on the mantlepiece and a string of lights on the dresser. That is incredibly restrained for me, but I have my sensible head on and at least it won't take long to clear.
- cleared and polished coffee table so at the moment it only contains the silver arrangement and a basket of chocs
- cleared dining table of cards/wrapping cloth/strings which is now upstairs. Consolidated various other bits of debris mainly as we'd barely started the jigsaw puzzle we took to Mum's, so I'd put all the edge pieces in a separate bag and I want to finish it.
- making progress in putting conservatory plants back in. Re-potted a couple; wrong time of year I know but I daresay they will survive. Brought up a bowl of hyacinths I'd had in the dark to force in the greenhouse; they are now showing blue flower buds so are in the lounge. Tomorrow is unexpectedly available to continue the conservatory as the friend we were planning to meet in London has had to go north to a sick friend so we will rearrange the visit.
- filled bird feeders.
- vacuumed lounge, dining room, hall and kitchen.
- caught up with various TV things we wanted to watch; haven't got round to White Christmas yet but I will....Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -

Morning all
Thought I heard the phone ringing at half six, must have been dreaming. Decided to get up anyway. My kitchen looks like student digs after a drinking session, OK that's a tiny exaggeration but I need to round up the empties, empty and refill the DW, hand-wash the good glasses and put them away, sort the Christmas booze and gibble accumulating on the worktop, give the sides and sink a proper clean, fold down the spare dining table, get out a clean tablecloth and mop the floor. In fact getting down on hands and knees and giving the floor a scrub wouldn't be a bad idea.
I have been invited to a girls night in tonight by the SIL that I upset on Christmas Eve, so I need to go or I will be in bother again. This will be 3 nights socialising in a row which feels a bit like hard work! I am doing a short volunteering stint this morning too.
Right, I need to make a start on this kitchen.Round Saturday 30th today love, just keeping you straight 😊xx10 -
Morning all
Another good sleep had. I’ve done my vertical half hour but i’m cold as the heating comes on later i at the weekend so Ive snuggled back down.
WM x 2, TD x 1 and i flung in a couple of damp items i couldn’t fit on the maiden, too. Hopefully what has been on the maiden will be dry and can be put away then I can get the next lot ironed later. I’m going to a Festive Fuddle at work tomorrow so i’m thinking of making banana bread…I have bananas to use up, DD only eats them green, and I have lots of sugars, rescued from mum’s, to go at.
I also want to dust and vacuum in here, too. And rescue the knitting…
And I have the thread to think about…New Year and all that.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Going morning my lovelies xx
Thank you YL 😊 31 years ago at this time I was pushing. DS was born at 8.25 am.
I'm up, made my bed brought down the laundry hamper, taken my meds and I've supped my first brew.
There's 'stuff' everywhere. Brew 2, breakfast and then I'll be back with a list.

Morning all
Many happy returns to Round’s DS.Much better sleep. It’s dry and still for now, the rain is forecast back from noon for the day. I may or may not go to the food waste hub at some point, there is nothing we need but I suspect a lot of it will be binned otherwise and, if nothing else, the animals can have it.
Need to get the tree back in the loft, tidy DS floor then start painting his room, finally.Take care all xx11 -
Good morning all,
Happy birthday to Boy Round 🎂. Love the way that everyone feels the need to prod Round about the date 🤣. Now if anyone can just keep me on track with the days of the week, I’ll be fine…
I hope you had a lovely day yesterday, Iona. Maybe your DH will surprise you and be the tidy up fairy…?
We have gusty wind and rain here, but I’ll keep hold of it long enough to give ASB a break from the weather, as I’m not going anywhere. DD has taken herself off to the stables after a call to her for help first thing this morning to get the horses sorted. As always, this has me on edge until she is safely back, both from driving the horrible narrow roads and riding.
I’m going to start a slow dismantle of the decorations. Some will stay up, but some have to go both for my sanity and to ensure that I get it all down for the 6th, being back at work on Tuesday then a joyful new year present to us all of a hospital visit with DD next week as well.
Who knows, I might even clean the bathroom today as well. After all, I did manage to do a load of admin yesterday 😇, so anything is possible.9 -
Brew 2 supped. Toast and marmalade eaten. Must now motivate myself.

Enjoy your day

Morning all, It's a very frosty start to the day.
My list for today

Organise work bag for tomorrow as working at 8am.
