ACER computers . avoid like the plague

My experience with Acer is pretty much the same as Piratess. I found their Customer Service excellent one of the best companies I've ever dealt with.
I've has two Acer Laptops that have gone back to them a couple of times due to my own damage both times they were repaired free of charge within a matter of days,0 -
To all potential ACER buyers
I bought an ACER Aspire 5610 & its been nothing but problems since day one. 930 Euros worth of plastic. They just fixed it for the 3rd time & all they did was change the fan. It crashes, blue screen of death, doenst reconize the hard drive properly, cant re - partition the hard drives, it over heats continously, the list is end less. You cant get anyone on the phone from tech. support, emails are answered by automatic response. If your lucky & get a good ACER there are good, but like me & many other peole, when you get a lemon, your drinking lemonade for ages.
AVOID ACER & THEIR SHODDY PRODUCTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From my dealings with them I think Acer customer service are excellent. Had a problem with a laptop, phoned up the customer service and they organised to collect it, fix it and return it, all of which took less than a week.0

I bought an acer desktop PC a few years ago. When it was 5 months old it died, so we sent it off to acer to repair. It took them about 6 weeks to repair it and when it came back it lasted about 2 months before it died again.
We sent it off again and it took them over a month to tell us it was irrepairable. They instructed the dealer we bought it from to issue a refund of the purchase price which we got quickly. A few days later we recieved a cheque from acer for the purchase price. This meant we'd been refunded twice!
Shortly after this we had a call from the dealer asking us to go and chose our new PC as acer had agreed to fund a replacement. We couldn't quite believe what was happening but went ahead with it. Sadly we had to chose an acer as a replacement as they wouldn't let us have a different brand.
A few weeks after this, Acer sent our original PC back. It had been fully repaired! (I sold this on ebay for £300)
So for our broken PC we got 2 refunds, a repair and a replacement! Sadly our replacement was short lived and died on us after about 6 months, I didn't push the issue, just bought a new laptop instead.
I would never buy another acer again, cheap and nasty rubbish!0 -
